Nowadays we are bombarded by many sources of stress:- exams, overwork, pollution, commuting, technology overload. No wonder we lose our ability to relax, sleep and recuperate. It is time to take care of yourself so that you feel better physically, emotionally and mentally. At The Lycium Centre, established in Bangor in 1995, we have over 30 years experience in an extensive range of therapeutic disciplines.

Following an in-depth consultation and assessment, we formulate an individualised treatment plan to best address your needs. We offer a safe, relaxing and professional setting for treating a broad spectrum of both acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term) conditions. We believe in treating each client as an individual and provide a personalised treatment plan to enhance their health and wellbeing.

I was nursing a knee injury (skiing accident) and was told I need a knee operation and would need to wait several months. Luckily I met a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner who sorted my knee out and I was so blown away and inspired by the guy that enrolled on his course and studied with him for 4 years.
At The Lycium Centre in Bangor, we offer an extensive range of therapies and clinical experience in the treatment of Sports Injuries. In fact, we were the first therapy clinic in Bangor est. 1995 to offer massage, acupuncture and mobilisation in the same treatment. I offer personalised sports injury massage treatments here in Bangor.
This type of massage works through kneading the knots and tension areas developed in response to stress and poor posture. Deep Tissue Massage is used to ease pain and tension from tired, taut or overworked muscles. I helps to release chronic patterns of stress in your body through deep finger/thumb pressure strokes on spasmed areas.
It is a curative treatment and assists the body to heal from muscular tension and affords pain relief. We are all beset by a multitude of modern day pressures :- exams, traffic, pollution, work overload - no wonder we get depleted. Running on empty makes us lose our ability to relax and this becomes our habitual state of being.
We are all affected by our environment and, for many of us, this can cause unnecessary stress, worry and physical tension. Foot reflexology is a very gentle treatment that assists the body through relaxation in order to restore a sense of balance and wellbeing. This therapy evolved from Zone Therapy in the early 1900's.

I have seen Mike since I was in my teens when I used to compete in powerlifting to which he helped fix any injuries, fast forward 20 years I still see mike regularly even if nothing is wrong... more so for the acupuncture which helps with daily stress levels and sleeping patterns. Best around highly recommend.
