Services
Sadie joined the practice in 2000 after studying animal care at Pencoed College and has become a highly skilled and proficient member of our team. She is also the practices cat advocate, making sure the whole team are kept up to date with the latest cat handling techniques, and making the surgery cat friendly.
If your pet requires investigative procedures, a surgical procedure or intensive care treatment we will admit him or her for the day or part of the day.
If care needs to be given overnight your pet will be transferred by ambulance to our emergency care provider at the Valley Veterinary Hospital where he / she will receive regular monitoring and treatment by the emergency team and returned via ambulance the following day or when deemed fit to return.Dial our surgery line 01443 430944 after 6pm and you will be diverted straight to reception.

People tend to think it's only older pets that get ill and therefore younger pets don't need pet insurance but we know from the patients we see each day that that is not the case. In fact, the younger your pet is when you insure them the better as it means you are less likely to have any existing conditions, which may not be covered by the policy and you can then receive more help covering the cost of any future treatment your pet needs.
We are committed to offering you a high standard of service at all times, however, there may be an occasion that your expectations are not met. If you are unhappy with any aspect of your pet's treatment, in the first instance, ring us and let us know. The practice manager will deal promptly with your complaint.

Amazing friendly service Tedi was thoroughly looked after and had some lovely cuddles off the staff which helped me with any anxiety dropping him off for the first time. We were told that due to covid restrictions that we wouldn't be able to go in with Tedi but the staff were so incredible and efficient that the whole process went well. Thank you so much to all the staff at Robin Lewis Vets.

Our cat went to Robin Lewis and we were told she needed splint and bandage for a broken paw, she was bandaged for 4 weeks and then we were told she needed surgery and amputation I got a second opinion from Cats Protection - Shepherds Vets - and they said she did not need amputation and had a check up two weeks later with shepherd's vets and was told all is well - if I had not gone to another vets my cat would have an unnecessary amputation

The vet did not disclose significant information to me about my kitten's health, which ultimately caused him to suffer more than he had to. I was not told how severe the illness was, and to watch him as it developed was absolutely heartbreaking.
I will not be going to this vets again, as I feel like I was messed around because they thought more about money than the health of the animal. Literally as soon as I paid for euthanasia, I heard nothing about what was going to happen afterwards. It was beyond distressing.

Failed to explain covid restriction when booking appointment meant I wasn't allowed in with my nervous dog to get her boosters! Wouldn't have booked the appointment had I know this. Also have seen people in other vets in the waiting rooms with their animals! Absolutely ridiculous not being clear over the restrictions and obviously no regard for animals wellbeing.
On top of this they then wouldn't let me into the surgery to pay them instead expected me to give them sensitive information, my credit card number, over the phone while in a public place! So not only no regard for animals welfare but

We have taken our pets here for numerous years. Always very professional and helpful.
When problems with our pets have arisen, they have booked them in straight away and recieved a full report within the hour. Very efficient. Had to make 2 insurance claims due to costs over the years, again, efficient and happy to assist. Would recommend this practice. The vets are great and so are the ladys you deal with beforehand.

We have used this surgery with no issues for many years.
Looking after our dog with care and integrity.
Following the resent sale of the surgery the level of service has dropped to abysmally.
On the last three visits the vet has suggested treatments and then asked how we would like to proceed.
Bizarre, I have to select the best treatment not the vet!
When challenged the vet stated he did not want to be blamed for the incorrect treatment.
It was never like this when Robin and his wife were there, they alway suggested the best course of treatment.
Just to note, this is the third incident where

Have been with the practice for almost 30 years with various family pets. We've always had a good and fair price service.
Staff are friendly and their love of animals is reassuring. Referrals to specialists are appropriate and timely.

Dylan and Izzy had their annual boosters and health checks today. Izzy had lots of cuddles, which she enjoyed . Was given sound doggie health promotion advice about diet and dental hygiene.
Also reassured about a health concern I had about Dylan.

Many thanks to Robin, Tina and all the staff for the excellent care given to my pets over the last 20 years and most recently to Tiggy, Frankie and Smudge. I have always found the staff to be caring and most helpful on every occasion I have visited the practice. I trust Robin and Tina completely with my much loved pets and couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Wow, what a wonderful practice with very friendly staff. My beautiful 5 year old became very unwell , very sudden, Phoned the practice and they gave him an immediate appointment, Unfortunatley they discovered he had been poisened. The vet treated him wonderfully and tried her very best to save him. They treated him with love and respect and he looked so peaceful when i went to collect him to lay him to rest. they were so compasionate to my grief. Would recommend this practice to anyone whom truely love their pets and want them to have the best of care.

This is a small practice with 2 vets there. They are both relly friendly people. I go there every time my dog is ill. They dont give you things you dont need to bump up your bill. I took my dog there recently and she had an accident on the floor because she was so nervous but the receptionist just came out with a mop and bucket and told me not to worry it always happens. I was mortified but she was great.
