Based in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, our intimate practice provides a professional environment for eye examinations and a stylish space to choose from our very wide and frequently enhanced designer range of spectacles.
The practice is located in North Street alongside the main banks, and is easily accessible on the ground floor for disabled and wheelchair bound people. The consulting room now incorporates innovative technology including a computerised LCD test chart to record vision accurately and has acquired a state of the art OCT for storing digital images of the back of the eye - the retina.

After your eye examination, your vision and your visual comfort is principally determined by the type of lens you are dispensed. As with everything in life, lenses come in various forms and quality. All our lenses come from the best in the industry - we use Essilor and Zeiss, but as an independent practice we have access to a wide range of products.

At Martin Reynolds Opticians we stock a wide and varied range of sunglasses from premium designer to luxury brands. All our sunglasses are kept in display cabinets. All eyewear and sunglass purchases from Martin Reynolds Opticians are covered by the manufacturers warranty which can last between 1 to 2 years.
At Martin Reynolds Opticians we have been specialising in prescription sunglasses for over 20 years. We will help you select a designer frame from our wide selection and we will advise you on the most suitable lenses to produce an amazing sunglass you can see and feel great in. Lens technology has improved significantly allowing us to provide a sunglass solution to most prescriptions.

I never normally leave online reviews but having had an appointment at Martin Reynolds today I have to agree with several other reviewers, it is absolutely light-years away from the production line experience you get at high street chains. Jay & co made everything such a pleasant & personal experience that I’d recommend anyone using a chain to make the switch. Definitely taking my boys there in the future & imagine my wife will switch too.

I cannot fault the level of service and care that Jay and his colleagues provide. For several years I had used a national high street chain where I always felt I was on a conveyor belt travelling through the system and just another customer. My wife had always used Martin Reynolds and finally I took her advice and became a customer. I should have done so earlier of course, as my wife reminds me! I wish I had listened to her advice... (she might be reading this).

I have been going to Martin Reynolds since I first needed glasses 17 years ago, I have always had a fantastic experience. Professional and personal a very different experience from large high street brands. A number of years ago I had a partially detached retina forming in one eye, Jay spotted it early and prevented me from losing sight in that eye.

Jay is a brilliant optician and I'm so pleased I found him! Efficient, knows his stuff and a nice chap too. He quickly diagnosed an ulcer on my cornea last year and packed me off to Moorfields even phoning to check on my progress a few weeks later. He has also been tireless in finding me contact lenses that suit my eyes when Specsavers told me there was nothing else on the market. Recommend wholeheartedly!

Excellent service. Very confident that eye test will prove to be accurate and any anomolies re health of eyes will be observed. Very pleasant and accomodating staff; offer advice and assistance readily and will help with choice of frames and lenses. Visited on a regular basis by members of my family for number of years and would not hesitate to recommend.
