Filey Golf Club
Filey Golf Club was established in 1897. The original course was situated on land to the north of this fine old North Yorkshire fishing town. The course moved to its present site on the south side of town two years later. Filey Golf Club is a member of the Association of James Braid Courses. Members of these courses can enjoy a reduced Green Fee rate by booking through the Golf Shop or Office (01723 513293 - Option 3 or Option 2.)

It has been suggested that Dr. Alister Mackenzie, during his period of residence in Leeds, made amendments to the original design. During his period as club professional at nearby Ganton, Harry Vardon would often play challenge matches over the Filey Course with his fellow Channel Islander Fred Beck, the Filey Club Professional.
Services
England Golf has today launched its innovative new app, My England Golf (MyEG), allowing golfers to stay up-to-date with their Handicap Index as part of the World Handicap System (WHS). England Golf has created the app to provide golfers with the ability to access their Handicap Index on the go, as well as to easily keep track of their overall playing record on a regular basis.
Except for medical emergencies, the use of mobile phones is not permitted on the course. Please set your phone to silent or vibrate to avoid disturbing other Golfers on the course.

The making and receiving of mobile phone calls in the Clubhouse is only acceptable on the balcony or on the upstairs landing, but is not permitted within any communal areas such as the Bar, Lounge, Dining Room or the 19th - in all cases please use the silent or vibrate setting. It is acceptable to use your mobile phone, tablet or computer for personal internet use in the upstairs communal areas, but please have respect for those around you.
If you are a golfer and have moved to the area or wish to take up the wonderful game of golf for the first time, we hope the following information will give you an insight into what our club and Ladies' Section has to offer. We are lucky at Filey as we can boast 27 holes of golf set on the spectacular North East coastline plus a large and comprehensive practice area.
The Seniors' Committee propose the following protocol in line with the Government's requirement (subject to change if circumstances require). The clubhouse will not be available for drinks prior to the matches but they will be available to purchase from the Pro shop. Upon completion of their round each 4 ball will enjoy a meal in the clubhouse, after which they are free to leave.
Filey Golf Club, in support of the English Golf Union's drive to encourage more people into Golf and sport in general, is pleased to inform you that, for the immediate future, there will be no joining fee. Free membership is available to any children or grandchildren (up to the age of 17) of full members of Filey Golf Club.

What a Gem Majority of holes are inland but stunning and challenging Fantastic course top quality condition. A 9 hole Academy course was equally challenging due to many large areas of water surrounded by… bulrushes. Fab views. Great staff. Restaurant girls were super and food was beautiful and plentiful £50 deal for practice, breakfast, 9 holes , lunch 18 holes then 2 course meal !!!!

What is going on at Filey Golf Club? There are at least 6 - 7 temp greens in mid August, with the other greens looking like it's mid January. I understand we have had some rain lately, but not enough to make a golf course nearly unplayable on the greens. The temp greens are no better, I would describe them as like " putting in your back garden". Very poor at present this course.

Great 9 hole course and challenging but the greens need a bit of work but looks like they have started that now.

The staff here are great, extremely friendly with great service, food was good and well priced.
Some of the tee boxes and greens let what is a decent course down, good test of your skills especially if it's breezy! great views from the cliff top too

Lovely Course, Some very interesting holes- I liked the one's where it wasn't just a driver on all par 4's and 5's ( saying that if you were a low handicapper you could go for it on some holes). Greens were fantastic to putt on. One I would definitely recommend for people to play. (may sound strange, but lovely to play a course where there's no rubbish, bottle, cans thrown into bushes.- It does show how much the green staff take care of the course). From what I've heard later...the food was very good and very reasonably priced.
