Services
Helen graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2002 and went on to gain the postgraduate Diploma from the Osteopathic Centre for Children. She treats both structurally and cranially. As a former professional dancer, Helen retains links with the dance world and sees many professional and student dancers in her practice.
Joint pains including hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis as an adjunct to core OA treatments and exercise. Uncomplicated mechanical neck pain (as opposed to neck pain following injury i.e. whiplash). The above conditions are approved by the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) who write and maintain the UK Advertising Codes which are administered by the Advertising Standards Authority.
Cranial osteopathy is a gentle form of osteopathic treatment. It is based on the belief that the osteopath is able to detect subtle restrictions in what has become known as the 'cranial mechanism' but is more accurately known as the 'involuntary mechanism'. Cranial osteopaths are fully qualified, registered osteopaths.
For the first consultation we usually allocate about an hour. Your osteopath will want to know what type of problem you are experiencing and a thorough case history will be taken. This will include your general health, previous illnesses, your lifestyle and family medical history. Based on the case history we will then conduct a physical examination, and for this it is usual to undress down to your underwear or sports shorts.
