Our story begins all the way back in 1985, when the Devon Bed Centre in Exeter first set down roots. Now, over 30 years later, it's the largest, longest established independent bed centre in Devon. And that pedigree, knowledge and industry experience has been poured into our Penryn furniture and bed store - Christies.
In 2010, we took on the Christies Furniture store and, having been closed for two years to that point, it was in desperate need of refurbishment. We relished the challenge and near re-built the place - transforming it into the comprehensive furniture hub that it is today. We're proud of the hard work we put in back then and even more proud of the successful years we've had since.

Had some issues with a delivery due to covid but was given a great deal of help with a temporary fix. When the delivery became available it was sent over really quickly and I was chuffed to bits with the quality. Must give Joe a mention as he was super helpful and overall the service was excellent. Thanks for everything guys. Oh and not to forget the delivery men who were also top notch.

I had a great experience at Christie’s. I was dreading choosing a new bed but Debi made it easy. She patiently explained how mattresses were made: fillings, coils, etc. After trying out over 10 beds, I settled for a British made Harrison mattress. It’s the most comfortable bed I’ve ever owned. Then Debi spent another hour helping me to choose bedroom furniture. She is such an asset to that store! I came back at a later time and bought living room furniture. There is a good variety of styles and prices. The delivery men were on time & efficient.
