In West Sussex, just North of the South Downs on the A24 you will find Ideal Motorcycles, an emporium of vintage, classic and historic motorcycles painstakingly researched and sourced by one individual. Simon Elliott - a life long motorcyclist and mechanic- brought up around engines; as his car and bike-racing father owned a garage (his father John racing an Ariel in the Clubman Senior Race at the 1953 Isle of Man TT - pictured right).
Simon went scrambling from the age of 7 on a bike built by his father, raced across Africa in the 80s, continued biking on and off road and in recent years, Long Distance Trialing with the likes of the oldest British motorcycle club the MCC including the Famous Edinburgh, Exeter and Lands End Trials - chasing the elusive "golden mile-post" (being awarded a gold medal on each trial within the same year).
