Developed from a UK Civil Aviation Authority research program, MALMS caters for all photometric, mechanical and electrical aspects of airfield lighting and enables airports to demonstrate compliance with airport regulations. MALMS provides airports with all the equipment, training and services necessary to establish an effective, efficient and compliant AGL maintenance strategy.
Tailor Made Systems (TMS) was founded in 1983 and has been involved with airfield lighting since 1991 when commissioned by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Defence and DERA (Defence Evaluation and Research Agency) to study the performance of airfield lighting systems. The MALMS Mobile Airfield Light Monitoring System has been developed using the knowledge and experience gained in the UK research program.

Services
The aviation industry prides itself on there being no single point of failure in the system that could on its own, cause a fatal accident. Runway lighting is an important part of this system, especially in low visibility conditions. MALMS provides airports with all the equipment, training and services necessary to establish an effective, efficient and compliant AGL maintenance strategy.
Using a mobile photometric test system as part of a preventative maintenance strategy is the only way to achieve the runway serviceability requirements specified in national and international standards for beam intensity and orientation (ICAO Annex 14, EASA, FAA AC 150/5345-46). MALMS Mobile Photometric Test System measures airfield lighting performance against the criteria for beam intensity and orientation defined in ICAO Annex 14.
The MALMS Automatic or Manual Airfield Lighting Cleaners provide airport operators with fast and effective methods for cleaning runway and taxiway lights. MALMS Automatic & Manual Cleaners provide airport operators with a fast and effective method for cleaning lights.
The Maintenance Optimiser integrates Mobile, Cleaner and Differential Maintenance methodology into a single maintenance solution enabling compliant airfield lighting serviceability to be optimised, even at the busiest airport.

MALMS Engineer is an inspection and maintenance solution that records the current status of an airfield's lighting assets and planned preventative maintenance KPI's. MALMS Engineer is designed to manage airfield lighting and pavement maintenance data recorded during routine inspections. This allows real-time reporting including runway serviceability, cleaning status, torque management, fault status, inspection status and any pavement issues.
Using a MALMS Sign & Papi Tester is the only way to demonstrate compliance for setting angle & transition, luminance / intensity and colour for safety critical systems. ICAO, FAA and National Standards specify for the photometric performance of airfield signage and papi's. The MALMS Sign & Papi Tester allows an airport to measure all key characteristics for these safety critical visual aids to maintain and demonstrate compliance.
