After arriving in Kettering from Scotland in 1889, Dr John Allison discovered that no golf course existed for him to play his beloved game. So, in 1891, he formed Kettering Golf Club and built a 9 hole course designed by Tom Morris of St Andrews. Shortly afterwards this was extended to the full 18 hole course we have today, making us the original home of golf in Northamptonshire.
We are a Members Club, where the enjoyment of golf and companionship, taken from the spirit of Dr Allison, remains the bedrock of the club. Guests and visitors comment that our course is the "best playing surface in the county". Although we are a members club we extend a warm welcome to visitors. Since 1891 our parkland course has matured into one which allows young and novice players to enjoy and perfect their game.

Kettering Golf Club offers a warm welcome to all members and their guests in their spacious single storey clubhouse. Set in the beautiful surroundings of the Northamptonshire countryside the location provides an excellent opportunity to have a quiet drink before or after your golf. Or to enjoy the entertainment from the patio, provided by your fellow golfers on the first tee or attempting to make the final putt on the 18th green.
Golf is a game to be enjoyed by all. However there are dangers if the Rules of Golf and general commonsense are not observed and implemented. Players MUST conform to the information posted on the signs on the Course. Always stand well back, away from any person swinging a golf club, even while practicing.

Can really comment on the course itself (the clubhouse is good though) but giving them 5 stars for running 4 free hour long taster sessions with the club pro for 8 to 12yr old. Fantastic idea, really well run and both my children have been thoroughly engaged during the sessions with Ian. Massive thumbs up and just for this they need a lot of kudos.
