Single vision spectacles can start at 49. We are a Varilux Centre of Excellence and supply Essilor lenses as standard, which are renowned for their high quality coatings, lens design and innovation. We also supply and fit a full range of contact lenses, including multifocals.

Tinson Opticians is an established independent opticians and contact lens centre. The business was started by John Tinson in 1984 with a small practice in Mill Street and today has grown to be one of the leading independent opticians in Maidstone with a large, loyal customer base serving all ages from 3 to 103 at it's current location in Middle Row.
Our eye examinations and contact lens consultations are carried out by a small group of fully qualified and experienced optometrists. We allow 30 minutes per patient to allow for a full and thorough examination. It will start with a full ocular history, general health overview and specific visual requirements.
We offer a full contact lens fitting and aftercare service, and being fully independent we are able to fit and supply all makes of lenses, ensuring we can find the best option for you. Whether you are an existing wearer or looking into lenses for the first time we can offer competitive packages with our Practice Plan.

Always thought this was really lovely little opticians with a great selection of glasses. My previous experience has been positive with colleagues going out of their way to help chose frames.
I needed help to replace my glasses following a recent burglary. Was planning to purchase the new glasses from here but the second “insurance” was mentioned really didn’t seem to want to help me. Really disappointed.
