Linzi is an experienced optician who has spent several years working in high-street outlets after she qualified in 2009. Linzi then joined what she calls the Kings Hill 'family': I love that there isn't the conveyor belt, patient-in, patient-out approach; we have time to get to know the patients and give them the attention they need.
At West Malling Opticians, we aim to provide an exceptional, professional and accurate service for ALL our patients. We understand how important your vision is to you and therefore we want to help you preserve and maintain healthy eyes. Annual sight tests are important to allow us to regularly monitor any ocular health changes as well as any changes to your vision.
Whilst looking straight ahead, everything in your line of vision to your left and right is known as your 'visual field'. A full visual field is a legal requirement for all drivers as any effects on the vision can impair your ability to judge distances correctly. It can also be used to assess and monitor unexplained headaches and more serious eye health conditions such as Glaucoma and tumours.
For the eye to maintain its naturally firm structure, the eye is filled with a fluid and a jelly, which provide the eye with all the nutrients it requires. There are areas within our eyes that produce this fluid and an area by where the fluid is drained out, therefore constantly replenishing the fluid.
Meares-Irlen syndrome, also known as visual stress, is a perceptual processing disorder. Here, there lies a problem within the ability to process visual information within the brain. On average, approximately 5% of the population are severely affected by Visual Stress and 20% have minor symptoms. Visual stress has been found in many conditions such as Dyslexia, Autism, ADHD, Photosensitive Migraine and Epilepsy.

Great service. Helpful, friendly and v knowledgeable. With a fairly complicated prescription, I am v pleased with the varilux lenses in my new glasses. Clarity and crispness of vision a huge improvement on previous glasses from chain stores.
Help and advice on finding best type of contact lenses also greatly appreciated.
