The Gatehouse is an independent local pub, restaurant and beer garden, located in the picturesque heart of Highgate Village. Under the watchful eye of our head chef Chris Payne, our focus lies on quality seasonal British food with a strong Spanish influence, sourced from the finest producers and suppliers.

Every Sunday we serve up the best roasts in Highgate. Behind the bar you'll find an excellent range of local and continental craft beer and cask ale, an impressive global wine list and classic cocktails. Join us for lunch or dinner, grab a coffee or just roll in for a few pints - we're open seven days a week.
Services
We carefully source our ingredients from small, independent & sustainable producers to bring you great food focused on simple, robust flavours. Our classic British and Spanish inspired menu is full of mouth-watering favourites like black squid ink & cod paella, to satisfying sharing plates including our hearty chicken pie with new potatoes and cavolo nero.
A chance to arrive in style. Add a champagne reception to your booking to ensure you and your guests start the night as you mean to go on. Impress your guests with our expertly, curated selection of international wines. From light and elegant whites, to full and fruity reds, our list has been carefully chosen to pair perfectly with our dishes and compliment your evening.
Kick back and relax in Highgate Village's best covered & heated garden. Located to the rear of the pub, the Gatehouse garden is dog-friendly, perfect for lazy alfresco lunches, after work beers or enjoying tapas and cocktails in the sun. On cooler evenings and in the winter months, our outdoor heaters will keep you warm.
An award-winning London Fringe Theatre with a varied programme of cabaret, drama and musicals. The theatre seats up to 140 and is situated above our pub in the picturesque Highgate Village. Ovation, the in-house company, produces two or three shows each year at Upstairs at the Gatehouse. Past productions have included Legally Blonde, Singin' in the Rain, Crazy For You, Buddy, Kiss Me Kate, Avenue Q and Top Hat.
With all the facilities to host a wide array of events. Whether you are looking to organise a birthday celebration, wedding reception, drinks & canap party or just a get-together with friends and family, our dedicated team are at the helm to ensure you're well accommodated. With its high ceilings, wood panelled interior and doors on to the garden, our decadent dining room is a truly memorable space, perfect for parties and wedding receptions.

So lovely to go… back today to try the Sunday roast and we weren’t disappointed. Highly recommend The Gatehouse for any kind of meal you wish to celebrate

Took 40 minutes to bring out two (tiny) lamb chops and a chicken. They brought out a mountain of mashed potatoes- totally off. Completely disgusting. Chicken was very hard to get off the bone. Also the staff don't give a crap. They don't care about the food or serving you good food. This view is also apparently shared by the chef. It's a shame because the place itself is awesome- it looks amazing, really cosy. These people have really missed the mark.
