The Asher Room can be used as a Service Chapel free of charge or as a Catering Room. Our in-house catering team would be pleased to offer help and guidance.

A. Abbott & Sons is an independent funeral director that is completely family owned and run. Jonathan Hart-Abbott & Michael Hart are the sole owners. This means when you call on A. Abbott & Sons you know exactly who you are dealing with. We want you to be able to choose the best option for you ~ be that a dignified simple arrangement or something more elaborate. All funeral directors are legally required to publish the Standardised Price List for a standardised set of products and services, to help you think through your options and make choices, and to let you compare prices between different funeral directors.
For many people, planning their funeral has become an established way of looking at the future, just like making a Will. More than a million people in Great Britain have taken out a funeral plan, over 400,000 of them using the Golden Charter Trust. Usually, they know the grief of bereavement and don't want their families to go through the stress of making arrangements.
When making funeral arrangements you will be asked if you would like us to process any charitable donations. You might choose to ask that mourners bring flowers to the funeral or suggest that a donation to your chosen charity is preferred. We will happily receive cash or cheque donations to our office either in person or via the post.
When you experience a bereavement it can be a very confusing time and often with the feeling of so much to do can be overwhelming. We have been helping families since 1885 and have great experience with all our local Churches, Cemeteries and Crematoriums. We will guide you through your choices of location of service and the different facilities at each cemetery and crematorium.

Michael and his team have been superb in making sure that our daughters funeral was organised with the greatest of respect and took away all the stress.and worry off our shoulders.
