Kennet Design is different from the rest of the field. We strive to achieve a deep understanding of our clients, we want to know what makes them tick, so that we're able to design high-quality buildings and environments for them that work on every level: practical, technical and financial.

Our design practice is made up of chartered and non-charterered architectural designers alike and, with the combined effort of planning consultants, structural engineers and project coordinators, we lead our clients from the very first conversation right through to completion if required. We are happy to be involved as much or as little as our clients require.
Services
Established in 2010, Kennet Design is an architectural and planning practice made up of experienced professionals offering high-quality architectural services in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire & Oxfordshire, as well as the whole of the south of England. We are different from the rest of the field.
We're proud of all our work, but have picked out a selection of a few completed projects to illustrate the scope and standard of our architectural design expertise here at Kennet Design. Take a look at the case studies featured below, which range from a timber-clad garden room/office designed for a client in Pewsey, Wiltshire, to a beautiful Georgian-style new build home in Marlborough.
The biggest and most worthwhile home improvement project you can embark on is to add an extension - or even more than one! Extending your home not only gives you more space to enjoy, but it also adds value and appeal to your property. It's no wonder that the slogan "improve, don't move" has taken off in a big way.
When you are considering an extension, the best way forward is probably to investigate the possibility of a loft conversion. Not only is this the most cost effective way of expanding your living space and add value to your property, but it will also obviate having to lose outside space for the building of a new extension.
Drawing up building plans is exciting as you imagine the new build to come. Everything that is constructed, however, is subject to planning permission from your local planning authority (LPA). If you don't have the right permission in place, you risk being ordered to demolish any building work and being fined - or facing a long battle with the authorities if you decide to appeal.

Not sure where to start, the moment we meet Carl we felt comfortable working with him. The amount of effort he went to in gaining planning permission for our property and the support and guidance they gave during this phase and also after which helped seal the sale of the property.

Carl Drury took us from concept through to the start of tendering for a builder for our terraced house refurbishment and extension. This included gaining planning approval and building control sign off on his design for our works. Carl was exemplary in how he conducted himself through out this process and above all else was extremely patient with our many changes in the design and what we were needing from the drawings. For complete novices such as us, he was very clear in his explanations and deciphered the 'builder' speak when we got initial estimates from our builders. Carl proved well his adaptability

Carl Drury (Kennet Design) has played a crucial part in bringing our listed cottage into the 21st century . The oak-framed garden room at the centre of this work adds light and space, completing and enhancing the garage to kitchen conversion delivered at the same time. The project included extensive refurbishing of older parts of the cottage and essential structural repairs. All of this required listed building consent and considerable negotiation with relevant authorities, on our behalf. Carl was adaptable and resourceful, involving structural engineers and historic consultants when required.
