One of the best Pakistani food restaurants in Bradford. Everything was presented beautifully and tasted amazing with the perfect amount of spices. Noor was the gentleman that looked after us and his service was immaculate. He answered every question we had regarding the food and advised accordingly. We will definitely visit again next time we are in Bradford. Definitely recommend to everyone!

Review based on takeout and home delivery. I love Shimlas for one reason and have highly recommended it as having the best lamb chops in the country to all my foodie friends and family. Unfortunately due to the pandemic I've had to order at home a lot and it's never been worth even 3/5. Food is often cold which is somewhat expected but what I don't expect is to have missing items or ignored instructions. Twice I've had a missing lamb chop, which to their credit was once replaced by a full portion the next time I went to collect (but only after I complained and stated what any good business would

Disappointing would be an understatement. Let me outline my reasoning below:
The atmosphere seems like any other restaurant until you begin speaking to the waiter upstairs. I thought that it was strange that she was wearing two facemasks whilst the other waiters were wearing none and they were not socially distancing, and there was no hand sanitiser available. COVID guidance was not being properly followed. I would have thought that they would have evenly distributed the masks but this didn't seem the case.

Travelled with friends to Shimla's to try it out. Food was average at best in terms of quality. Meat Karahi was full of fat. Chicken donner portions were small.
The restaurant was freezing, there were a few electric heaters laying around. No staff advised us of the heating not working nor apologised. We were served by Loyal who was very helpful and patient with us! Thanks!
Overall interior of the restaurant and toilets were below average. Could do with a refurb. I would say it didn't live up to our expectations.

Not usually one to leave reviews but the waiting time at this place was unacceptable, one whole hour.we were told only 30.mins waiting time. People had come and gone during our wait, whilst we had to stare at a plate of salad. Was told to wait another 5 minutes after asking what was happening with our food. Not very happy with the service at all. Food was okay but most definitely will not be visiting again.

So unhyginic the knifes folks were so dam dirty not washed at all and glasses were un washed as well not washed properly absoulutely disgusting is this how they serve customers they food was horrible platter… chickendonner was proper nasty tissues which they gave was used up i wouldnt recommend this kind of place to any of my friends familys from london when we orderd the food they dont come and give us the right stuff on time like the salad,and the drinks i have posted few of the pics social media will keep uploading it.. and also they didnt come and give the food on time.. they bleeming

Came to Shimlas on recommendation from a friend who lives local to the restaurant. 7 of us travelled up to enjoy the experience of eating in at Shimlas. The food took about 30 minutes to prepare, which in my opinion was quite long. The food was decent and pleasantly not too spicy unlike a lot of Asian restaurants. The mix grill was a bit on the small side but as we'd ordered different signature donners they size did not affect our being satisfied. The toilet and general look inside of the restaurant could do with sprucing up in order make the experience better.

Ordered 3 curries today that were totally different and when they were delivered, they were 3 exactly the same. We even ordered different heats. When I called to let them know, I was told they were 3 different curries and I was lying. All 3 curries were tried by all 3 people and we all said they tasted the same.

Shimlas chicken kebabs are so amazing, last time i visited I phoned a friend in London as I was driving home, she actually cried that I hadn't got her takeaway and brought it back (yes, Bradford to London!!!)
Biryanis and the Pakora's are always fab too.
My only disappointment is that dessert is 'plastic'... I'd much prefer a homemade Gajar Halwa- but i suppose the portions are big, so its rare anyone makes it to desert!
The restaurant is certfied Halal, and no alcohol is served.

This restaurant is located quite close to the University of Bradford (main campus) and it is quite popular with students. They offer very good authentic kebab food, which is the most popular choice. However, if you decide to order curry, it would take longer than usual. They are quite busy even on weekdays and I had to wait 20 mins for takeaway. The items on their menu are quite affordable. Overall, they have good service and the staff are friendly (one of the staff helped me ask where my order was after seeing me wait so long!)
