I received my Master of Osteopathy degree from the British School of Osteopathy in 2011 and I also hold a diploma in sports massage. I firmly believe healthcare should be about the whole person and therefore I take a holistic approach when dealing with my clients.
This accords with the fundamental approach of osteopathy which seeks to diagnose the cause of pain through analysis of a person's entire body and lifestyle, not just an isolated symptom.I am a skilled structural osteopath who uses a variety of techniques which are tailored to each client's particular needs, including functional and visceral techniques.

Services
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
What should I wear? As with any medical examination, to facilitate a full examination of the spine or problem area you will probably be asked to undress to your underwear, so please wear something you are comfortable in. If you feel more comfortable in a T-shirt and shorts, there are changing facilities available.
Being in pain can sap the joy from your pregnancy and no woman should have to endure unnecessary discomfort. Having a baby can be one of the most momentous and beautiful occasions in your life, however your body undergoes significant changes to accommodate the approximately 20lbs extra weight of your baby and the fluid around it.
Sports massage is a form of massage specifically targeted at the manipulation of soft tissues in anyone participating in regular physical activity, be it on a professional level or just for personal fitness. These soft tissues include muscle, ligaments, tendons, skin and fascia - basically anything that has not hardened into bone and cartilage.
Situated a short walk from both Balham Station and Tooting Bec Station, ReCentre Health is on the corner of Balham High Road and Marius Road. Alongside osteopathy, a whole host of complementary therapies are available, including physiotherapy. There is even a studio where we offer pilates, yoga and better back classes.

In the very first session Peter was able to diagnose the issues with my knees, lower back and shoulder and explain to me what was causing the pain. Something which more than 6 Oesteo experts over the last 5 years were unable to do so.
His vast knowledge, practical experience and a keen passion for solving complex human body issues makes him simply the best and the most technical Oesteo I have come across in my life.
He is detailed, thorough and highly technical yet uses laymen’s terms so his patient’s can understand their treatment.
I feel empowered since seeing Peter because when some kind

I was treated by Peter some years ago and have always returned when needed. Peter literally puts his finger on the problem area each visit after a swift mobility assessment. He presses down on where he thinks the issue is and has never failed to get it right (I know that because I feel it when he applies a little pressure). He did this today when assessing me and I commented how that always amazes me. His modest reply was “it’s down to experience”. But having seen Osteopaths on on off for a few years before Peter (I was a hairdresser in a previous career), I know they don’t all have the

Peter is a brilliant Osteopath. I first saw Peter through recommendation, when I had a very stiff sore neck and could not move properly for a week. He fixed me in less than 30mins!
I have been back regularly since August 2020 to help with Women's Health particularly fertility and I can honestly say I am amazed. He has a wealth of knowledge!
I would highly recommend Peter, a true professional.

I can’t recommend Peter Schimke highly enough. He is a great professional, incredibly knowledgeable but also very warm and friendly; his gentle manners and reassuring demeanour will quickly make you feel comfortable in his presence. He genuinely cares about you as a person and he Is an inexorable source of information, advice, useful tips about your condition. He was great with my bad shoulder and my low back pains; also…it turns out he's got a great knowledge about menopausal issues too! He’s FAB!

I have been a patient at The Osteopath for over 2 years, coming back regularly for back pain treatments and some sports injuries. The practitioner, Peter Schimke, is most professional and friendly and I have always felt he has given me undivided attention. I have always been impressed with his immaculate hygiene in the practice, his skill and his understanding of ethics and customer focus: what to say, when to say it and what not to say to a patient.
