Cairns Counselling has been dedicated to providing counselling to the people of Aberdeen city and the surrounding area since 1994. As a well-established service, we are trusted by many professionals and have a long history of enabling change. It is our mission to give understanding, support and compassion to adults in need across the Aberdeen area.

Through the provision of counselling we aim to encourage, empower and enable our clients to grow and live more fulfilling lives.
Services
Counselling is time set aside by you and the counsellor to look at what has brought you to therapy. This might include talking about life events, (past and present), feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. The counsellor will do their best to help you to look at your issues.
People come to counselling for many different reasons and they can benefit from counselling in many different ways. It is not unusual for people to be unsure of why they feel the way they do, or how they may want to make the best use of counselling. There does not have to be a crisis before choosing to have counselling.
It can be a daunting experience the first time you make contact, but we believe that the benefits you can experience here will make it worthwhile. Most people contact us directly and refer themselves, but referrals can be made through a GP or other professional. This is a short meeting to get to know a little more about you, talk through what we offer and how it may be of help.
We offer both individual and couple sessions. Furthermore, we can offer a range of counselling approaches which is dependent upon the counsellors we have working with us at the time. Your specific needs can be discussed prior to counselling beginning. If you are reading this, you are already thinking about Counselling, and giving yourself the opportunity is a good position to be starting from.
We are an independent charitable organisation. Although we are recommended by many GP's, we are not part of the NHS. We rely on donations and the support of charitable trusts to raise enough funds to deliver the service. There is no minimum expectation of the amount clients donate towards the cost of their counselling, any donation is gratefully received.
