Fine Finishers and Decorative Artists specialising in cracked gesso and high-end furniture finishes, in our beautiful home county of Shropshire. We work directly with the end customer and in partnership with a wide variety of respected interior and furniture designers, architects and artists to bring out the beauty in any surface, crafting elegant traditional finishes alongside modern, cutting-edge effects.
With 15 years of experience in the surface design industry, our team of Fine Finishers and Decorative Artists have extensive knowledge in a vast array of specialist finishes. Whether you have a clear design concept or are unsure of the best approach needed we can work with you to create the perfect, bespoke finish for your setting.
Our decorative artists are experienced in the wonderfully organic and versatile medium of cracked gesso. Traditional gesso is a mixture of an animal glue binder (usually rabbit-skin glue), chalk, and white pigment which has been used for hundreds of years as an effective primer coat substrate for painting.
As many in the creative industry know, surface design can often be regulated and restricted by budget and location, however, our unique artworks are the pure expression of Luke throwing away the restraints of this limitation, truly indulging in his own creativity and versatility of the gesso medium.
Our Decorative Arts Furniture is the quintessence of functionality and aesthetic pleasure. Every individual item of furniture is expertly crafted to be elegant and beautiful in its own right, yet frame and compliment the artwork housed within. Many pieces are made in collaboration with the talented furniture maker and designer Samuel Rickman - Rickman Furniture and Fine Joinery.
