This Country Club definitely is an option. As a non-Golfer (I agree with Mehmet Scholl on that...) I can't review what seems to be the vast golf sport area, just the hotel itself, the main house, breakfast and athletic facilities such as gym, pool and classes.
Staff is friendly and courteous. Mostly eastern European but English is quite good.
The bartender is awesome in the Fox (Manor), thank you :-)!
The breakfast is not very good, to me that takes the fifth star away. The atmosphere is great, but the breakfast options are very limited, and even when ordering à la carte it is not good

Fancy resort but this is a review just about the Manor restaurant.
I had:
- Portabello mushroom tartar, baby leeks, quail eggs, truffle vinaigrette
- Roast cod with smoked iberico morcella chorizo
The portions were tiny but delicious. I don't think the price is nessarily worth it unless you get their marketplace menu, which you can get for £28 for two courses. The mains a la carte are about that alone.
The ambiance is very romantic, so even if you are not staying here, it doesn't hurt to have a nice evening here - a bit out of the way though if you aren't already in the area

Apparently a girl decides if she like a guy within the first 7 seconds of meeting; make a bad impression within that oh so short introductory period and you are screwed. .. or not, as the case may be.
So, on then to Foxhills and the first 7 seconds... You turn into the front gate and are greeted by beautifully landscaped grounds, through the trees you get a tantalising glimpse of the main house.. it looks old and historic and perfectly maintained, by the time you get to the front courtyard you are ready to take this place to bed... I might be taking the analogy too far but you get the idea.

A lovely place with great golf courses like the Bernard hunt for the more experienced players and the Manor course for beginners and intermediates. It has a driving range, an indoor and outdoor pool, many tennis courts, indoor gym and good cafes. But the mebership prices are ridiculous unless you go at least twice a week. That's the only thing stopping a five star.
