We have an extensive and varied menu, with regular specials, a lunch menu from just 7.95, and a great selection of reasonably priced wines, with the focus on Italian. We are a free house and have a wide choice of beers, including on draft: Peroni, San Miguel, Carlsberg, Guinness, Thatchers Gold, Thatchers Haze, and Doombar or our guest ale of the week.

Not that quick getting the food to the table, but when it arrived it was top notch. I had the best penne al' arrabbiata ever. Often it's just spicy tomato sauce, but not at this place! Very tasty. Very different. Something to get your teeth into. Also, it was a Sunday lunchtime but they managed to fit us in without a reservation.

I have eaten at Il Vello D’Oro on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. The staff are very friendly, helpful & professional. The food is extremely tasty, with generous portion sizes and they… have an extensive & varied menu. I give them a 5* rating and recommend you pay them a visit sometime soon. I recommend booking a table as it is a very popular venue.

We booked a meal to celebrate my daughter's 18th Birthday, the staff were great, allowing us to bring along a cake and bringing it out to a chorus of Happy Birthday, dimming the lights and making my daughter's evening.
Service was good, great selection of Italian dishes, food was excellent. There were 6 of us and all the dishes were great quality and generous portions. The restaurant were happy for us to order a number of starters and share them amongst us, brining out sharing plates to enable us to do this.
Excellent restaurant we will definitely go back.

The food was great, and it is what keeps the rating from being lower. The service though was terrible. Friendly enough, and I understand that businesses such as this are struggling to get staff at the moment. But we had 3 occasions which let it down. First, one of our side dishes was never brought out, unable to get a waiting staff member to notify. We then requested water to the table, had to wait 25 minutes for this. Finally, 1 desert was ordered and the waiter brought no cutlery out to eat it with. Said he’d be right back with it. 20 minutes later and I’m left with one very sad soggy melted
