When Scottish tennis superstar Andy Murray acquired Cromlix, close to his hometown of Dunblane, it signalled not only a return to his roots but the chance to reinvent the glorious era of grand country house living. Following extensive refurbishment, the US Open, Olympic and Wimbledon champion has transformed the elegant Victorian Perthshire mansion into a luxury 15-bedroom and Gate Lodge, five-star destination.
The hotel, which opened in Spring 2014, offers guests the chance to experience the sort of decadent lifestyle once enjoyed by the Lairds of Cromlix, redefined for the 21st century by sumptuous surroundings and impeccable yet discreet service. Situated in beautiful countryside, just three miles from Dunblane, Cromlix is set in 34 acres of secluded woodlands and garden grounds, with its own chapel and house loch.

From the moment you arrive at the Cromlix you are given a warm welcome from the staff who are all so polite and attentive. We treated ourselves to one night in a suite which was simply luxurious. We also dined in the hotel restaurant and not surprisingly the food was ample, imaginative and very tasty. Only negative we have related to the surrounding grounds and outbuildings which could have been better managed and maintained to provide accessible and attractive woodland walks. Given the grandeur and beauty of the building it was a shame the industrial bins couldn't be placed behind screens.

Visited for afternoon tea for two. Quite busy but staff extremely friendly and attentive at all times. Any request was dealt with immediately and with a smile.
The afternoon tea was one of the best ever, served in superb surroundings, certainly a memorable experience. Will be back for our next special occassion. Thank you Cromlix.

Okay - for those that don't know, Andy Murray bought Cromlix House a couple of years ago & it opened its doors in 2014 as a 15 bedroom hotel, with Albert & Michel Roux at the helm of the Restaurant.
On coming here (admittedly, for a wedding venue viewing), first impressions as you drive up, is that it has been beautifully restored & renovated to an exquisite standard, to match any 5* hotel in the country.
Interior decor was simply to die for. The bedrooms are higher than any standard I've been to (and I've been to a lot!). Whilst the venue itself is stunning, we decided
