If you need help, advice or just someone to listen to you, you need Streetwise! You can talk to us about any issue that may be bothering you, the service is free, friendly and confidential.
Streetwise is a National Award winning regional charity which offers an informal, safe, confidential, non-judgemental space for young people aged 11 - 25 years. Young people can access free information, advice, counselling, support, community activities and sexual health services. Streetwise has been in operation since 1991 (over 29 years) and is based in Newcastle City Centre.
We are in the city centre by the side of The Gate, walk up towards The Gate and when you reach Tiger Tiger turn left and then your first right. Keep walking until you almost reach the grass at Blackfriars. The entrance is the white door on the corner facing the grass. Press the buzzer and we'll let you in!
The aim of the charity as stated in our charitable objectives is "to preserve and provide for the physical and mental health of young people aged 11-25 years, living in Newcastle upon Tyne".

To encourage young people to have a greater awareness and understanding of their personal resources in order to make healthy lifestyle choices; build their resilience, understand their personal responsibilities, increase their self-worth, reduce risks and make effective decisions.
Looking back over 2019/2020 highlights how much the world has changed in the last six months. However, it is still important to celebrate our successes and learn the lessons from the wide-ranging experiences of staff, young people and parents involved with Streetwise. This report describes the work of Streetwise in its many forms and highlights the need for us all to do more.
