Isle of Wedmore Golf Club was founded in 1992 and is located just 15 minutes from Junction 22 of the M5. The location benefits from panoramic views of the Mendip Hills, Cheddar Valley, Glastonbury Tor and the Somerset Levels. Services
From that date your handicap will be based on the average of your best 8 scores from the last 20 rounds, from the last two years, and will vary depending on the difficulty of the course being played. The basic principle is to provide players with a mechanism that enables them to play any course, with any players on an equitable footing.
Our course has some of the best views to enjoy during your round of golf of the surrounding Somerset countryside. The panoramic view of the Somerset levels from our 11th and 12th greens will make a long lasting impression. The 18 hole, par 70 course is over 6000 yards in two nine hole loops both of which start and finish at our comfortable Clubhouse.
From the championship tee the opening drive requires length and accuracy to avoid being blocked out by the tree on the right side of the fairway for your second shot. This leaves a straightforward second shot but be watchful of the boundary hedge down the left side of the fairway, approaching a flat but well guarded green.
The chipping green allows for full short-game work with realistic ground conditions and two bunkers of varying size and difficulty. The practice holes allow you to work on a range of chip shots including the chip and run, the flop shot and also the dreaded bunker shot. The hole set behind the clubhouse and surrounded by woodland, offering a picturesque setting for practicing.
Isle of Wedmore Golf Club prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and welcomes visitors and societies 7 days a week. We are situated only 10 minutes from junction 22 on the M5 with Bristol for instance, only 45 minutes drive away (How to find us). Isle of Wedmore Golf Club is an ideal venue for a society visit, providing a warm welcome and personal service for your society or company.

Turned up to find course closed - wasted my time and fuel - as a visitor surely it’s common courtesy to contact bookings first thing after a decision to close is made to inform them that the course was closed especially as they take contact details when you book - very disappointed

I organised a nice golf day at the Isle of Wedmore. For a round of golf and a breakfast all for £20. This was excellent value. However breakfast was cold when received and some of our group wanted glutton free food. This got mixed up and was not corrected. Other than that the staff very friendly and willing to help. Insufficient staff on duty seemed to be the problem. With all of these faults I would still recommend going as we did have an enjoyable day and the course for the time of year was in very good condition

Good course and quite challenging, mostly level so easy for the not so fit. Very busy so must keep up a brisk pace.

This is a lovely, well maintained and challenging course. Staff were friendly and professional. It was reasonably busy, but not overcrowded so a nice easy pace of play.

Terrible golf club to be a member of. I made some serious accusations whilst a member there which were completely ignored. I did threaten to put what happened on social media and was basically told they would tell other clubs and hamper my chance of being a member elsewhere. Do not join this club.

Played 18 holes with a society, Course was in excellent condition, greens really good with hardly any pitch marks and fast and true. We had a bacon bap on arrival with coffee and a sit down two course meal after, good quality and good value. £2 for a coffee and £3.20 approx a pint. Gem of a course worth a visit. Recommended.

Nice course on the Somerset Levels. In very good condition in August but not sure during the winter months. Nice greens and interesting holes including three par 5's on the trot on the back 9. Welcoming clubhouse and ample parking. Well stocked pro shop and a few buggies available, though the course isn't a hard walk.

Non existence service in the restaurant, poor quality food, not interested when complain and no manager to speak to! Definitely a member club as they all walk behind the bar etc! No Covid secure measures! 50 minute wait for a jacket potato which we weren’t advised of! If not a member you don’t matter! Such a shame as used to be so good!
