In the 1950's my grandfather had a hill sheep farm in the mountains of Northern Scotland. My father, Ian Fraser, was Pipe Major of the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders. He left the army to take over the farm when my grandfather passed away in 1959. My three sisters and I had a lovely up-bringing; we never wanted for anything.
Weddings are a huge part of my life and every Friday and Saturday throughout each year I am usually performing. Most of my work is in Scotland but I also pipe worldwide. Some of my work has taken me to Ireland, England, Wales, Holland, Sweden, Kazakhstan, Germany, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia and several in the USA.
Spud the Piper has been honoured to perform at many weddings and special events, not only throughout Scotland and the UK, but worldwide. With many years experience of piping at funerals, Spud the Piper would be honoured to play the highland bagpipes for your family. Spud can play a traditional piece or a piece of your choosing. Piping at the funeral service usually commences as follows. I normally play as the hearse leaves the church for approx 500 yards.
