John Simmons started working for himself back in 1986 after a decade in a Volvo main dealers with the thought "I can do this better, be more personal & more affordable". After four years working mobile from the back of a van in all weathers the first Volvo Workshop was born in a small workshop off Lower Southend Road in Wickford.

We can undertake Air Conditioning repairs from a simple Re-Gaz to more major repairs such as condensers & pump. We can programme your ECC unit with VIDA computer to adjust cooling/heating heated seats etc, to suit your requirements. Friendly guys, knowledgeable, not over charged! Previously visited this place to get some diagnostics, they were unable to fix (had to go to dealer) but didn't charge me for the 10 mins on diagnostics machine which was very nice and I know a dealer would have!

Our second time using Volvo workshop Wickford for our V60 annual service. Yesterday I was greeted with a smile, and the car service was performed using genuine parts and for a very reasonable price. The guys there are clearly passionate about Volvo (and other cars I imagine too!) and gave useful expert advice. A stress free experience, and now our go to service centre. Car feels great to drive today.

Needed auto headlights turned off on my Volvo s60, John did the work with ease, and they really know their volvo,s, dealer level knowledge, but at independent specialists prices!!!, I.d definitely use them again.

What an honest mechanic and man! Got stuck in this area with the engine light on. Being NHS doctors on call that evening in Carlisle (300 miles away), we went to him, willing to pay whatever to get back to Carlisle that day. We went to him, he did a diagnostic test and told us straight away it was nothing to worry about and that we could drive back home. He didn’t even charge anything. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this garage to anyone else.

My car had been nothing but trouble for near on a year, other mechanics had tried to fix it unsuccessfully. Wish I had taken it here in the first instance, all problems now solved and at a decent price. I will be using them for all my vehicles. Would recommend this garage .
