We are a well established dental practice in Maldon Essex with well over 25 years of history providing NHS as well as private treatments. Our experienced dental surgeons have been providing quality NHS and private treatment for well over 15 years. We strive to provide high quality dentistry to our patients. We would like to prevent rather then treat dental conditions, therefore we encourage our patients to have regular check ups. Our aim is 100 percent patient satisfaction.
Services
We provide full range of NHS and private dental treatment. Your NHS dental treatment will include all the necessary work that is required to protect and maintain good oral health. We also provide quality private dental treatments. Every treatment starts with the dental checkup. Also we take x-ray to get a whole picture of your dental status.
In your routine dental checkup we are screening for signs of dental and oral disease/disorder i.e. caries, gum disease, cancer etc. Also your oral hygiene will be monitored and if necessary we will explain to you how to improve on your oral hygiene. An orthodontic assessment will be carried out for developing children with regards to teeth and jaw development.
Harmful acid producing bacteria in your mouth will dissolve the enamel that protect your teeth and give you tooth decay or a cavity. You can prevent decay by having a good oral hygiene and by reducing your sugar intake. Sometimes the cavity becomes too big and will require filling out to prevent tooth loss.
Large fillings should be made of stronger materials like gold or porcelain. In these cases we take an impression and construct the inlay/onlay in our dental laboratory and cement it into the tooth on your second appointment. When the damage is substantial and the tooth already has a large filling, we might recommend crowning (i.e. a fractured tooth).
If a large part of the tooth is missing and a filling would not be strong enough often a crown is recommended by us. To crown a tooth we reshape it to a cone shape and take a impression. We construct a crown in our dental laboratory that will cover the whole tooth. On your second appointment will be fitted permanently.

I started working here as an Apprentice Dental Nurse and really enjoyed my journey with Carmelite. They have been really supportive with my practical and theory work throughout my course and I am now a qualified Dental Nurse and receptionist. I mainly work as a receptionist here at Carmelite and love to work with such a positive group of people.

I started having treatment about eighteen months ago and found the dentist to be good .
I am on benefits due to metastatic cancer but have always paid for my dentistry . I was chatting to the dentist about my condition and we got onto the subject concerning paying for treatment due to me being on benefits . After a chat not knowing if I could or couldn't claim. I was informed that I may not have to pay.
I brought in some paperwork to prove I am on supplemental benefits. Thanked the receptionist and thought that was an end to it . If i'd have known what was to happen I would have simply paid immediately
