Services
The St Athan Golf Club's Veteran section is open to any Full Club Golf Member who is aged 55 and over. We currently have over 70 Veterans. Normally in the summer months our Vets play friendly games with 12 other golf clubs in the region. From Mond Valley Golf Club in Clydach, Swansea to the West, to Dinas Powys Golf Club near Barry to the East and to Glynneath Golf Club just outside Neath to the North.
The Wayfarers Golf Society was formed 30 years ago. The main objective was to bring golfers together from Golf Clubs across South East Wales in an inter-club team competition. Our activities include participation in a League Competition, a Knock Out Competition, at least one Charity day and numerous Tours and Away Days.
Our Club House has a large function room for hire with bar and an outside terrace overlooking the golf course. It is popular for parties, weddings, funeral wakes and social events. We offer catering if needed. We regularly host entertainment and events at our Club House including bingo, parties, Fat Club, Six Nations, craft fairs and social events.
Although a one-off annual 12.00 cash payment is preferred, payments of 6.00 every 6 months can be made if preferred. Prizes each month will comprise a first prize of 100, a second prize of 50 and 50 going to a fund for Golf Club improvements. These prizes may be reduced proportionately while the number of members of the 200 Club is less than 200.
We offer Second Club Membership for golfers who are already full members of a CONGU affiliated golf club and this entitles you to most benefits of a full member at a discounted rate. You are not eligible for a county or national card (GUW/GGU) as no affiliation fees are due with this membership category.

Very nice greens, lovely open course, but some short old lady member with a grey bowl cut thought she had the right to tell us how to play around OB. We were there for a casual hit as my friends new to sport, werent having a full on serious go, maybe she should just mind her own game instead of nit picking at others, we paid our fee, let us play without the gobby opinions, thanks.

I really enjoyed my round here, a very friendly club. The tree lined fairways require a draw off the tee for a shorter second shot so my shortish fade was not probably optimum but I did not find myself in any great trouble.
I would have liked to have seen a course map on the scorecatd as I was scratching my head on the second shot on the opening hole as to where the green was. Be aware it is tucked away and is well guarded by foliage, your third ( in my case) shot needs to be on the left hand side of the fairway to have an unobstructed shot in. The par fives are very long for a short hitter like

First time golfers at this venue today and we were very happy with our experience. We're not exactly the best golfers in the world but we were made to feel very welcome with every single person we passed saying hi, asking how the round was going or just general chitchat about the gorgeous day.
The course is a very long, well presented 9 holer. The course itself is very challenging with long, narrow fairways and lots of trees on the first 6 holes.
When we first arrived I went into the club house to ask if we needed to do anything. There was a young barman there that didn't actually know what we

A very good course, loved the fact that it's predominantly flat, but it plays longer than you think, so it encourages you to hit the ball well, which I really like, and a lot of green side bunkers, which force you to stop and think.
A very warm welcome and helpful staff and members, all in all a really good day out.

Had Sunday lunch here today 9th December 2018 If you enjoy a traditional Sunday roast dinner, you won't get a finer meal than at St.Athan Golf Club - I challenge anyone to find a better place to eat a Sunday roast - just one caveat - you need to book a table at least 2 weeks in advance. Food portions are large - the quality is also likely the best that you can get - at any price. Excellent value with first class table service to boot. Great place to dine!!!
