Services
Claire Ryall established a physiotherapy and sports injury clinic in 2005 in response to demand for high quality treatment aimed at injury prevention and performance improvement in elite runners as well as treatment of their injuries. Her extensive experience in the research and clinical management of spinal pain and upper limb disorders makes for a versatile therapist who enjoys a varied client base.
Bodyworks is now offering Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) as a treatment option for some musculoskeletal conditions where other treatments have not been effective enough. ESWT has been available for some years now, and there is increasing evidence that it can be effective in chronic conditions of the achilles tendons, plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow (see "indications" below).
Many of the treatments and special treatments we offer are fairly standard physiotherapeutic treatment modalities but the skill is in knowing when and how to apply them and how best to customize them to each individual client's needs. For example, Claire will use video feedback to assess and improve running technique dependent on the presenting injury - not everyone is suited to barefoot running or designed to achieve a perfect forefoot strike.
From Winchester City Centre: Leave the city via Southgate Street into St Cross Road. Take the first left after the BP garage into Kingsgate Road. Without any hesitation I can highly recommend Claire. As a mature athlete I have been indebted to Claire for over 10 years. Whenever I require treatment whether for a body "MOT", injury or post race recovery, her expertise & sound advice have ensured not only have I made the start line of races, in particular marathons and ultra marathons, when there was a doubt, but successfully complete the distance and cross the finish lines!
