Services
Edge Structural Design undertake a vast range of civil and structural engineering services, including small domestic structural alterations, large civils and drainage schemes, temporary works projects and structural inspections. Since 2000, we have successfully completed many diverse projects, from window lintel replacement in period properties, to multi-million-pound new build structures.
Edge Structural Design was established in 2000 by Chartered Structural Engineer, Adam Sedgwick. In its infancy, the company provided structural and civil engineering consultancy services in the local Oldham area. Edge is now made up of some of the most experienced structural and civil engineers Manchester and the North West has to offer, and has grown into a respected nationwide engineering firm.
As a company, we strive to keep up with the latest advances in technology to ensure the buildings and structures we design are efficient and fully integrated with Building Information Models (BIM). Our Engineers have access to the latest in civil and structural analysis and design software including Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds, MicroDrainage and PDS which are fully compatible with BIM models and clash detection.
Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance to us. We, therefore, operate a Quality Management System to help meet customer expectations and ensure a benchmark for our civil and structural engineering services. Our QMS provides a framework for our company to manage its processes and activities, improving efficiency by providing a best practice model for our staff to follow.
BIM Level 2 is distinguished by collaborative working, with all parties using their own 3D model, although not necessarily working on a single, shared model. At Edge, we have experience of both individual and collaborative working. To create our 3D structural model, our proposals would include a combination of Tekla Structural Designer and Autodesk Revit to create a fully co-ordinated BIM model that can be used by the rest of the design team.
