Previously named Buckley and Tyler, Oldham Engineering Ltd. was established in 1861 and has supplied Precision Engineered Products to Industry for over 150 years. The founding partners of the company, Samuel Buckley and James Taylor, were accomplished engineers and began their partnership in 1861 at a small works in part of the Castle Mill premises in Oldham, England.
Oldham Engineering has a quality driven culture with a continuous improvement mentality at its heart. We measure, develop and improve all areas of our business through Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). KPI's are set for every operational department within the business from Internal Sales to Production, Planning to Purchasing.
Our Platers and Coded Welders are qualified to the appropriate standards to do the task in hand. Our processes and procedures are documented to ISO BSEN, AWS and ASME IX standards. Where required, Oldham Engineering will undertake customer specific welding procedure qualification. After the quality standard has been established, the most important step toward its achievement is the selection of the best process and procedures.
Oldham Engineering embraces technology to help improve process efficiencies. At the centre of this are 5 stations of CAD/CAM employed to assist customers develop their products and/or create Q-sketches to aid in the manufacturing process. CAD is extensively employed to help develop Jigs and Fixtures, to reduce product machining and fabrication cycle times, which is specifically important in Batch manufacturing.
As such, the company has procedures and policies which help drive, develop and evolve a variety of continuous improvement initiatives in this area. Every Management meeting in Oldham Engineering has Health and Safety as an agenda item. We have a continuous improvement culture which means our business will never stop moving forward and developing its Health and Safety practices, policies and procedures.
