F L Wangler Opticians was first opened in Newport by Fred Wangler in 1960. We now have an additional branch in Newbridge. F L Wangler Opticians is an independent practice. This allows us to provide high quality products and services individually tailored to meet your requirements. Our Newport branch is situated in Maindee and is easily accessible by public transport.
Alternatively, there is ample free parking on the side-streets adjacent to the practice. The branch has 3 well equipped testing rooms - one of these rooms is on the first floor. If you wish to be seen in a downstairs room please specify this when booking your appointment. We have a separate room for further investigations.

Services
We offer contact lens options to suit all budgets and needs. Whether you want daily disposable, extended wear or multifocal lenses, we have the contact lenses to meet your requirements. We fit lenses from all the leading manufacturers including Alcon, Coopervision, Bausch & Lomb, Sauflon and Johnson & Johnson.
We recommend regular contact lens aftercare appointments to ensure you're getting the most from your lenses. Aftercare appointments give us a chance to ensure that your eyes are healthy and that you're still getting the best possible vision with your lenses. These appointments are vital because changes in the eye due to contact lens wear can easily go unnoticed and, without regular check-ups, serious damage could occur.
Rub, rinse and store your lenses in the recommended solution before and after each use (except single-use lenses, which should be discarded after each wear). Put a lens on the eye if it falls on the floor or other surface, without cleaning and storing again. Re-use or top up solution - discard and replace with fresh solution each time lenses are stored.
