We are located within the Milton Keynes Art Centre, a pleasant leafy park with excellent public transport links and ample free parking.
Self-building is the action of commissioning your own home, the design tailored to reflect your requirements, your life style and your budget. Your role within the process can be as varied as the designs. So, if the thought of digging footing in the rain or tiling the roof in a force nine gale leaves you cold, fear not, you can leave this to a build team.
As certified European Passivhaus Designers Eco Design Consultants can design your new home or any building to one of the three Passivhaus Standard, classic, premium or plus; or if retrofitting existing buildings, to the EnerPHit standard. The Passivhaus Standard is a specific construction standard for buildings which results in good comfort conditions during winter and summer, without traditional space heating systems and without active cooling.
A Passivhaus is an energy-efficient building with all year-round comfort and good indoor environmental conditions without the use of significant active space heating or cooling systems. The space heat requirement is reduced by means of passive measures to the point at which there is no longer any need for a conventional space heating system; the air supply system essentially suffices to distribute the remaining space heat requirement.

The whole Eco Design Consultants team are amazing, they achieved the perfect balance of support and challenge to ensure that my home is perfect.
Their knowledge of Passivhaus is outstanding. Alan was happy to patiently explain the finer detail over and over until I understood, answering all my many questions.
They worked extremely well with our contractors to make sure that we got the design and efficiency we wanted. I was extremely impressed with their commitment to my project and their ability to work with the contractor to solve problems on the site in a way that allowed me to get what I wanted
