Services
At Orchard Day Nursery we offer a safe and welcoming environment catering for babies from 3 months old. Key workers will provide a tailored learning program for every child, working closely with families. All babies are treated as individuals and our aim is to follow their home routines as much as possible.
We, at Orchard Day Nursery aim to work in close partnership with parents and aim to create a warm nurturing homely environment where the individual child's home routines are followed especially regarding sleeptimes and pottytraining. Mrs Alex Clarke, our Pre-School Teacher oversees learning and teaching in our 2-3 Room and supports the team of staff in planning and assessment.
The aim in Pre-School is to enable children to develop a creative approach to learning through discovery and investigation. We also aim to prepare children for transition to Big School and have links with many local primary schools in the area as Mrs Alex Clarke, our Pre-School Teacher was until recently Foundation Stage Coordinator and Reception Teacher at an Outstanding local Primary School.
We take our catering very seriously and supply breakfast, lunch and tea prepared on site by a professional cook. Great care is taken over the planning of our menus and its nutritional content. Snacks are offered on a freeflow basis in our Toddler and Pre-school Rooms, allowing the children more uninterrupted child led learning possibilities.
Forest School is a unique approach to children's learning and development, which allows children to explore their natural environment, embracing all weathers. It was initially practiced in Denmark and since then has been adopted by many early years settings across the United Kingdom.

Forest school provides the perfect environment for real life and first hand experiences, enabling the child to develop skills for independent thinking through exploration.Children also gain problem solving skills, developing self esteem and independence, as well as learn how to take manageable risks.
