In the late 19th and early 20th Century, William Bettelley operated a public transport company comprising of an open carriage and horses. He also had a carpentry and funeral business; making the funeral furnishings in the upstairs workshops of the existing buildings, where the horses were stabled down below.
WR Bettelley is still housed on that very same site today, maintaining a traditional, sensitive and dignified service as an independent family owned business which has been serving generations of the same families in the North Staffordshire area since 1905. Whilst funeral costs have risen sharply in recent years, we strive to keep our services affordable for everyone. We offer a range of flexible options. Our funeral packages start from as little as 1,590 (excluding third party costs), whilst the average cost for one of our funerals is around 700 cheaper than today's national average of 4,078.*

I was recommended w.r bettelley after the sudden death of my dad, I have never had to make such decisions and had no idea where to begin.
Kevin was an absolute legend he talked us through all options and never once did I feel like I was getting a hard sell.
My dad was a hgv driver and I wanted to put his coffin on a lorry, Kevin liaised with the company and the funeral was everything my dad would have wanted.
Kevin made a horrific time for me and my family simple and straightforward.
I can never thank them for the respect they showed my dad.

My late Mum was my absolute world, and I wouldn't have gone anywhere else to ensure she was looked after and our needs as a family met with care and dignity. Kev at W.R Bettelley's is amazing, and along with his team, we took comfort knowing Mum was in good hands. The care and compassion throughout the process, at the most difficult time of our lives, was truly amazing and comforting. I would highly recommend W.R Bettelley.

Kevin and Rosemary were absolutely brilliant in dealing with my late mum. They answered all the questions i had and were so supporting to myself and the family. They helped us to give my mum the amazing send off that she deserved. We have used Bettelley's for all of our late family members as they are absolutely brilliant.
