Services
Simon, former Optometrist Director of Specsavers Cramlington, has over 25 years experience in optics, 23 years of which as a fully qualified optometrist, graduating from London City University in 1992. He is a Member of the General Optical Council (GOC) and the Federation of Ophthalmic and Dispensing Opticians (FODO) and continually enhances his knowledge and skills through Continuing Educational and Training (CET).
Eyeworks offers a full suite of services including Eye tests using state of the art optical equipment. We also offer Contact lens fitting and Sports eyewear. Eyeworks now also utilises iTerminal optical measuring devices by Zeiss. The eye examination reveals important information about your overall health as well as the condition of your eyes.

My husband and myself both had eye examinations with Simon today. Highly professional and thorough service. We both felt that Simon really took the time to talk us through each stage and explained everything as we went along. He was happy answering any questions we both had, and it's plain to see that Simon knows his stuff inside out. He really knows how to put you at ease and was extremely helpful to us both.
With such a good service, we were expecting to pay much more than we did!
We can't recommend Simon and Eyeworks highly enough!

Simon was highly professional whilst at the same time exuding warmth and a very caring attitude. He obviously is dedicated and took the time to explain everything that he was doing which was very refreshing and interesting. It's a big "thumbs up" from both my husband and self and we would have no hesitation in highly recommending him to anyone.

Definitely worth the trip from Gosforth to Simon's practice. He's a real pro with all of the latest 'kit' which he loves to explain to his customers. Also has a great range of frames to choose from. He's one of the good guys who has looked after my Mum and Dad's eye health for years and mine too. Forget the big players, they're not a patch on this guy. Gillian Drinkald

This review is long overdue. Simon is fantastic. His knowledge and experience really shows. More than that, it is his approach to his customers that makes this place stand apart. I have had eye issues since I was a child and so very familiar with some of the complex issues and treatment options.
We recently had mine and my child's appointment with Simon. My child had his eye test done with another optometrist and was really dissapointed on being told that he needs a spectacle. When I visited Simon, he changed my child's perception of wearing spectacles and he was now looking forward to it. Fantastic

I am new to the Eyeworks practice having just moved from another local optician. My decision was based on a simple spur of the moment 'drop-in while passing' and a 20 minute conversation with Simon. That was all it needed and I'm delighted I made the move.
I've just picked up my first pair of specs from them, and from start to finish, the process was excellent. In addition to being thorough, efficient and professional throughout the examination process - the most comprehensive test with explanations I've ever had - Simon and Karen were engaging, friendly and kept things relaxed, simple and straightforward

Very very impressed with the level of sevice from this optician. Like a previous reviewer I too just popped in whilst passing and I am so pleased I did. The eye test itself was extremely thorough but done in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Simon took the time to explain everything and as I have eye problems this was very reassuring. I never felt that I was just another patient but rather that he had time for me and genuinely cared. Karen too was so friendly and helpful when choosing my new spectacles and they arrived very quickly. Pricing is also very competitive with plenty of choice.
