Nigel graduated in Optometry from the University of Bradford in 1982. He did his pre-registration training in Newcastle between Practice and the RVI hospital.

We are committed to providing the highest possible standards of eyecare to all our patients. Regardless of whether you are NHS or private, you will receive a first class service. We invest in technology and staff training to enhance our patient services. As a result we can offer a range of services and procedures beyond the scope of the General Optical Service (NHS) Sight Test.
Creating the right image is a work of art - we believe you should look good in your glasses, and sunglasses, as well as see better. As independent optometrists, we hand select all our optical frames and sunglasses from a wide range of manufacturers. Decisions are not made from a remote head office and you are supplied with the finished item that best suits your needs.
To create a customer's Bespoke Frame, we take a series of precision measurements and photographs. These are sent to the TD design studio where the eyewear is designed and then submitted to be made in the TD workshop. TD Tom Davies produces all of its own frames, so every step of the process is meticulously controlled.

I attended Robinsons Optometrists for an eye check this morning and I cannot speak highly enough for the service received. The staff were all very friendly and professional and I am more than happy with my first pair of glasses. They had a great range of frames to chose from and were able to accommodate an appointment in a very tight schedule at short notice. Thank you to the whole team- you’re all fab!

Visited Robinson’s for the first time and was extremely impressed from start to finish. The eyesight test was extremely comprehensive and conducted in a very relaxed and friendly manner. The staff were very accommodating and helpful regarding the selection of frames. Most importantly there was no pressure which I’ve experienced at other Opticians. It’s was a pleasant surprise to meet a fellow South African working here. Even more so that he lived quite close to my house in Soweto.

Fantastic service from all of the staff (receptionists and optometrists). They were great with my kids and myself. My son (8 ) was very nervous but the optometrist was very patient and reassuring. Robinson's have a large range of frames and lenses and the prices were very reasonable. Would definitely recommend!
