Victoria Medical Centre
Victoria Medical Centre is one of the oldest practices in Westminster and has been in existence since before the NHS began. The practice provides a large number of services from a purpose built, attractive premises conveniently situated in Pimlico, a short distance from Victoria Station. We have built up a team of well trained doctors and nurses with a wide-ranging mix of skills, all committed to offering high-quality care to our patients.

There is also an excellent and efficient administrative team to help us respond effectively to our patients' healthcare needs.
Services
Dedicated clinics are held on Friday mornings and are run by Dr Thakore with two nurses trained in looking after patients with diabetes. Patients can make appointments via reception and will be given a form for fasting blood tests which should be done about a week before the appointment date. Specialist podiatry care, dietician advice and eye screening can also be arranged.
It offers up to date General Practice health care delivered from a smart modern premises which is located in a quiet street near Grosvenor Square. The surgery is a branch of Victoria Medical Centre which is a well established General Practice nearby staffed by experienced, skilled practitioners and managed by an efficient team led by a senior Practice Manager.
The practice has two doctors on duty for urgent or same day appointments. Please telephone the surgery giving brief details of your problem to a receptionist who will put you on the duty doctors' telephone list and a doctor will call you back and discuss your problem in detail so that the most appropriate service can be offered.
Our Practice nurses are able to carry out blood testing, ear syringing, travel vaccination, childhood immunisation, dressings, blood pressure checks, spirometry, cervical smears, as well as family planning and urine testing. They can give advice on diet, smoking cessation and minor ailments and help run the various clinics offered by the surgery.
The Victoria Medical Centre has its own PPG, which is also a member of the National Association of Patient Participation Groups (NAPP). Our group has been running successfully since 2006, and holds regular meetings in the Group Room in the building. The Group provides an opportunity to meet fellow patients, and in addition we offer practical help in the practice reception on occasions such as the special 'flu' clinics and open days.

Absolutely shocking service. From the rudest possible secreterial staff to doctors not even doing the basics right. The only time I would recommend this surgery is when it would be as an alternative to dignitas

If you go straight to the practice, it's easier to book an appointment.
Depending on when you get to the front desk, they can be really helpful.
However, I did have someone laugh at me on the phone for accidentally mispronouncing a doctor's name. Which I did not find very professional at all; coming from a customer service point of view (I have 8+ experience in this field).
Sometimes, they either run late or their booking system gets messed up.
If you expect to get an appointment by calling in, you should either prepare to wait for a while but don't get shocked if, the line is busy and disconnects

The management and running of this medical centre is not far from a joke taking the mickey out of patients.
In November I had 10 days delay in having the prescription signed and able to collect.
Followed by a 40 minutes medication on the phone on November 27th, when all the medication waa agreed. But two days later when I was trying to renew the prescription two days later, you could not do it.
I am very thankful to my pharmacist, Star Pharmacy, that provided some medication while the victoria medical centre was just delaying day after day for 10 days the renewal of my prescription.
The worst

This place is an actual joke, the administration side are completely incapable of anything, they un-registered me out of nowhere making it impossible for me to get an appointment and then blame me for their mess-up. If you ever do manage to get through to speak to anyone they are rude and unhelpful. In the 5 years i have been registered here i have never had a positive experience with a doctor either, if you are looking for a medical centre and have the option to go anywhere else - DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Since this enlarged practice existed, it has become on of the most difficult practices to speak with on the phone. It is, really a disgrace. I have been on hold for two separate periods today for 45 minutes each time, number 17 and 15 in the queue respectively. This isn't a service and I feel the NHS Quality Care Commission should re-visit.
Cleverly, you can't email or speak with the practice manager, as there are no contact details available.

Nurses are really kind and compassionate - absolutely what you need when you are scared of needles - Will be asking for Ribena again for any future blood tests! Didn't feel it :) So far, I have been impressed with every member of staff I have encountered with their professionalism and heart. Thank you all for your hard work ! A.B.

They are a joke. I have been with them for almost 5 years. I am very lucky I very rarely need a doctor. In the last 3 years I managed to get 1 appointment, because it wasn't urgent. Otherwise, the minimum wait to see a doctor is more than 2 weeks. The best you can hope for is a call back. Today I called for the last time and I have been told I need to understand, because they have 8k patients. Well, if you cannot handle them, stop taking them. Limit yourself to a number you can actually manage without people having to wait 2 to 3 weeks to see a doctor.
