St Idloes Golf Club
St. Idloes Golf Club was founded 1897 on its present site, which was then the local race course and cricket practice ground. At one point in the club's history it temporarily moved nearer to the town, but returned to Penrallt in 1947. The club has always drawn its membership from the local people.

Golf may be an elitist sport elsewhere in the country, but in a small country town where everybody knows one another nothing could be further from the truth. The club has a wonderful friendly atmosphere, which is extended without reservation to visitors.
Services
The course is nine holes in beautiful undulating parkland and the total length for eighteen holes is 5,510 yards. Par is 66. Although relatively short by modern standards, the nine holes are full of variety, the slopes and hidden greens require accuracy and course management to achieve a good score; althought there are some very good driving holes, long hitters find little advantage over their weaker brethren.
St. Idloes is a friendly and relaxed golf club, and welcomes new members. Whether you would like to play social golf with friends or join in Club Competetion, St. Idloes is the club for you. There is a very strong Seniors (over 55). Open days, special events and social activities are run throughout the year.
Come play on your own, with the family or friends. Alternatively you are welcome to join in with the mens Wednesday evening gang at 6.00 PM. A driving range and practice areas are available if you just want a few swings, work on that slice or prepare yourself for the adventures ahead before you tackle the course.
The mens competetions are generally played on Sunday Morning through out the year, with a drawn Shotgun Start. This enables golfers to mix and play with different opponents and also finish at the same time allowing results to announced before you head off to Sunday Lunch. During the Summer from April through to September on a Wednesday evening the Mid Wales Shooting Centre Challenge is contested by many of the gentlemen members.
Welcome to Mens Senior Section of the St. Idloes Golf Club. St. Idloes golf club boast a vibrant Senior Section with regular club competetion and inter club matches. The mens senior competetions are generally played on Tuesday Morning through out the year, with a drawn Shotgun Start. If you just fancy a friendly 9 hole knock, senior member are often found at St. Idloes at 9.00 AM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning.

Members of this club have no manners and are outright dangerous as they drive off the 3rd tee when players are on the 2nd green

A beautifully located course which was meticulously maintained. Whilst not a very long, 9 hole course, it is challenging, interesting and a joy to play.
