We visited on a Friday night just before Christmas so we expected it to be busy and we were alerted that the wait for food would be a bit longer as they were busy. The food was delicious and well presented. The service was good and attentive. I dropped a star as my pie crust was over baked and hard and it was just so noisy as we had a party behind us. Will return on hopefully a quieter occasion as the food was excellent.

Fur coat and no nickers springs to mind. Looks absolutely delightful from the outside, the bar and dinning area are warm and inviting. The hotel rooms however are basic, the rooms are not very homely. But having said that, it is the cheapist hotel in the area. Unfortunately the attitude of the staff of the staff is a little dismissive.

Amazing roast! Can’t fault it. Reasonably priced, at: £13 for chicken, £16 for beef and £18 for lamb. Comes with all of the trimmings, and their desserts were amazing! Nice informal, and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Excellent village pub with the best Sunday roast out that I've had in ages. Our group had either beef or lamb and all said how good and how generous the portions were (meat, not just veg). Thanks all.

Love this place! Pub has a fireplace! Good good, service, and if staying the night, lovely bedrooms. Bottom floor rooms have stable doors (super cool!) and picnic tables outside. The place backs up on the Upper Thames, which is excellent fishing. Will return.

Went for a meal as staying in the area. Have previously stayed here. Loved the food in the past wondered if it was still as good.
I had steak and ale pie with Mediterranean veg. The meat melted in my mouth and I could taste the ale in the gravy, not something that often happens.
The sticky toffee pudding was light and full of flavour. The toffee sauce was sticky but not heavy. Just as wonderful as I remember.
Staff were friendly and there when you needed them.

Well what a wonderful family run hotel, from the minute you arrive at reception you are made most welcome. On the 1st night we stayed in room 1 with a 4 poster bed. The second night we had one of the court yard rooms. We could not fault anything. Evening meal in the restaurant was superb, would highly recommend the baked brie sharer starter. The signature dish blade of beef was unbelievable. The breakfast menu was extensive and quality and quantity of food second to none. Beautiful canal side location. No wonder they have been trading for over 30 years. Could not recommend this place more highly
