I am a professionally qualified counsellor and cognitive behaviour therapist. I am a registered member of The British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, working ethically to their framework. My aim is to provide a quality therapeutic service. I have over 25 years nursing experience working in the field of adult mental health.
I have worked within NHS, charity and private settings. As a person centred staff nurse I worked with adults who had complex physical and/or mental health needs. Later in my nursing career I worked with dementia. I have extensive experience caring for and supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, epilepsy, dementia, mental illness, terminal illness and end of life care.

I am an Integrative Counsellor which means I am able to use a combination of therapeutic theories and interventions. I believe we are all unique, therefore no single approach can suit every client in all situations. Having an integrative approach allows me to be flexible to your needs. I aim to work holistically with the Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual aspects of self, that make up the whole of you.
The Japanese word Reiki means 'Universal Energy' This energy flows through all living things and is vital to wellbeing. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Illness can be a time of great stress, not only for the sufferer but also for their family and friends.
