Just returned from a lovely overnight stay at New Lanark Mill Hotel. With Covid 19, we were a wee bit apprehensive about going but we needn’t have worried. Social distancing was in place and hand wash stations could be found in all public areas and at door and lift points.
The hotel, restaurant, pool area and our room were all spotless and the staff were so friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious with an excellent choice at both dinner and breakfast.
The buildings and surrounding area and grounds are stunning and we can’t wait for a return visit in the Spring/Summer time.

New Lanark Mill Hotel, Lanark, Scotland - part of a World Heritage Site.
Our twin room was huge with two very comfortable double beds and plenty of space to move about, there was a kettle with tea, coffee and hot chocolate, the bright bathroom was spotless and well-lit.
The sound of the River Clyde outside was amazing (there had been a lot of rain) and we slept with the window open which was great.
The location of the hotel was amazing and I wish we had more time to explore.
Wifi was very weak in our room, but only stayed a single night so less of a problem. Breakfast was good and set us up

Unfortunately although there a number of hand sanitiser dispensers around the hotel there were at least two of them which were empty and remained so for our stay. Breakfast on the first day was very good but not so much on the second day. The room was clean and well maintained although the fire and evacuation procedure poster was on the top shelf of the cupboard and not on the back of the door as indicated in the directory. The directory indicated that an up to date restaurant dinner menu would be included but it wasn't there.

We stayed. one night in October 2012 and I loved this place, steeped in history which is proudly on display.
It has very spacious corridors and rooms. The food was excellent and the river Clyde spectacular. There's a lovely gift shop and cafe too.
Our suite had a slightly dated settee and chairs, but the bed was very comfortable and spacious and the TV was a good size.
I recommend you stay and help with the costs of maintaining such an important relic from our past.

Had a wee overnight in the hotel, surrounding area was fantastic with beautiful walks and the bonus of an open market at the weekends. The room was large clean and the pillows were great. We had dinner which was also fantastic and the service was good even though they were short staffed. We went for a swim in the morning the facilities were good the pool is small but enough for what we needed. Would definitely go back in fact we have rebooted for December

Having stayed in one of the well booked riverside cottages for two nights, I ate in the restaurant for two meals: breakfast and dinner. The Scottish breakfast was delicious with eggs, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, baked beans and extra haggis rather than black pudding. At dinner we sampled whisky before and after from the extensive offerings and accompanied our meal with an excellent French red. Starter was bread with salmon cannelloni (which resembled more sashimi and was farmed unfortunately), and mains were beef and haggis pie (rich wine gravy with tender meat and no usual haggis evident), and

Nice menu. Excellent food. We were guests in the hotel. Dined twice in the restaurant.
Had a bread platter as an entree. Not with butter, no with pesto, olive dip and a tomato saus. Really tasty, not too powerful.
In the two days we ate a ceaser salade, a pasta, a hamburger and a duck dish.
I particulary liked the duck.
All in all we recommand this restaurant highly.

I love New Lanark, it's World Heritage mill buildings, it's history, and through a small gate the wildlife reserve - the Falls of Clyde. Improbably, the same river that downstream was to become the world's greatest workshop of the industrial age is a natural jewel, with gorgeous waterfalls immortalised by Wordsworth and committed to canvas by Turner, and with a deep gorge that cuts through ancient woodland, cliffs with nesting peregrines, and William Wallace's cave (reputedly). Beautiful!...but as a tip bear in mind that the waterfalls are far better seen when the weir is down
