I think the common thought when going through the house buying process is that applying for a mortgage is an incredibly complicated, time-consuming and headache-inducing process. My partner and I certainly thought the same when we embarked on the process as first time buyers.
As it transpired, going through the mortgage application process turned out to be the easiest and most stress-free part of the whole process, but I don't think that would've been possible if we didn't have the sage guidance of John and Abode Mortgages.

From my first meeting with Claire I felt at ease, her & Emma are so friendly and nothing is too much of an ask. I didn’t use a mortgage advisor when i went for my first mortgage but after my experience with Abode I will definitely be using them again in the future & will be recommending them to friends and family.

John took all the stress out of buying a home, he sorted everything and was at an arms length when ever we Weren't sure on something. we also had a few issues with the sellers estate agents/ solicitors which John sorted promptly and nothing was to much of a fuss. Towards the end of the process John was also able to help us with a quality home Inscurance and the same with life cover and explained the reasonings behind his choices.

John was incredible throughout the entire process. We decided to purchase our first home at the beginning of the first national lockdown. Which meant our application was in no way straightforward. Throughout the application we were furloughed, made redundant and between us had two job changes. None of this was too much for John and we secured our first home with minimal stress!!!
John was professional, honest and reliable. Would 100% recommend to anyone in any county. We were in Norfolk whilst John was in Colchester, all correspondence was completed over the phone and this made no difference to

John was absolutely fantastic in facilitating my mortgage. As a single lady on my own with only one income I can quite honestly say I wouldn’t have got my mortgage without his expertise.
He was professional from start to finish and was a constant support throughout.
The service his company provides is outstanding and I would certainly recommend him to anyone and I will be for sure using his company again!

I have used Abode Mortgages now several times and John has always got me not only the right mortgage but the best deal and option available.
Knowing that i own a rental property John will always email me any information that he thinks that might be relevant to me, which i have sometimes missed - so Thank You !
For me its the personal touch too - its nice to have a mortgage advisor that you know is not only looking after your best interests, but has time for a chat !

Myself and my partner have just bought our first home and was suggested the services of John Carter through an estate agents who we actually didn't end up buying a house from! I couldn't fault any aspect of John's work, it made the stress of purchasing a first home so much easier. I would recommend abode mortgages to any friends and family. We have since gone on to organise Life insurance through John which has been equally stress free!
