Many of our therapy rooms have double doors to the garden which can be opened during sessions to maintain fresh air circulation. At Manchester Hypnotherapy, we have been successfully treating the following conditions for many years. This list does not set out all the problems which we can help, as this would be almost endless, but gives examples of the most common problems we see. No-one is born with a phobia. A phobia is a learnt behaviour. Your mind and body learn to associate the object of your phobia with feelings of anxiety, panic and horror. Maybe you've been told something is disgusting, or dangerous, or perhaps you've seen someone else react with panic to that thing.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT is a major part of the work we do at Manchester Hypnotherapy. We know that CBT is an extremely effective, quick therapy. And research shows its effectiveness is magnified when it's used together with hypnosis. The same techniques are used as in traditional CBT. But then the suggestions and ideas are also given by the therapist whilst you are in hypnosis.
You can't get "stuck" in hypnosis. That would be like saying you can get stuck watching a film. You might be engrossed and forget about other things whilst you're watching a film or listening to music - but you can't get stuck. It's the same with hypnosis. If you want to talk, ask a question, move about or stop the session, you can - any time you want.
Your first session at Manchester Hypnotherapy will last an hour and a half, but we charge just for one hour. Or you can choose to have a free half hour telephone consultation. Stop Smoking Hypnosis - 130 for a session lasting an hour and a half. If you find it difficult to relax, we recommend that you listen first to a relaxation and self-hypnosis sound file, which you can download free of charge from our website.

May have been better pre-Covid?
The website lists 6 members of staff working 6 days a week from a south manchester base. Having tried a number of times over the past month to set something up there are now only 2 members of staff available, one of whom I have been able to have contact with, both are unfortunately based at home now and aren't easily accessible from the city centre.

The response below (which I am unable to reply to) suggests I was offered numerous appointments with two therapists. I was only offered an appointment with, and actually only interacted with one

I visited Pam to stop smoking. She made me feel so comfortable and took time to get to know my background during the appointment. This is the only way I have been able to successfully stop smoking. I have tried for years trying out different methods, but with Pam's hypnotherapy it's been the easiest by far. I would recommend to anyone who wants to quit.

I did hypnotherapy with Anne for my phobia of vomit. I was putting off reviewing as I hadn't actually vomited. So while I was feeling calmer in a variety of different situations I didn't know how well it had actually done. However the proof is in the pudding (or toilet in this case), I went a bit hard on New Years Eve and spent the next day vomiting. No crying, no panic attacks, just got it done. I can now actually understand when people say 'It will make you feel better'! I would definitely recommend them :)

I had SUCH problems with Insomnia, and although was a bit nervous about letting someone into my head, things had gotten so bad I had to do something!
But I really had nothing to worry about - Pam was so lovely and understanding, and instantly made me feel at ease. It only took a few sessions with Pam to sort out my sleep, for which I'll be eternally grateful.
Brilliant value for money too - peanuts really, when you consider that I've now got my life back.
If you've got a problem - don't be like me and wait for ever to do something about it - go and see Pam!

I have nothing but positive things to say about the series of sessions I booked at Manchester Hypnotherapy with Harriet to combat issues of anxiety. 6 weeks since my first session I feel so much better and I feel the process has given me a new lease of life and my 'old self' back. Harriet is so approachable and understanding of my situation. I would wholeheartedly recommend Manchester Hypnotherapy.

Although I have yet to have my first treatment I have found the details on the website to be extremely useful and informative. In particular the video included on the website has helped put me at ease as to what to expect. Pam has been extremely helpful and reassuring and I'm looking forward to my session and - hopefully - getting my nervousness around flying under control.

My sessions with Pam have helped me with my fear of flying immensely and also just with anxiety in general, getting on a plane is nowhere near as daunting as it used to be! I used to have sleepless nights leading up to any flight and that has totally gone now.
Also Pam is lovely and helps you feel very calm and relaxed, and the recordings you're provided with have helped my problems sleeping aswell. Could not recommend more! Amy x

I had a session to quit smoking with Anne three months ago and I've not touched a cigarette since. After twenty years, many and varied previous attempts to pack in, I've given barely a thought to it, almost as if I never smoked before. Incredible. Plus, it was a gentle, totally comfortable and positive session.

Pam's web site and free downloads were recommended to me by a friend. I have found the downloads I have tried to be invaluable. I noticed positive changes from the first time I used them in that I was a lot less anxious and much more relaxed. I am also sleeping better. I have continued to use them regularly and am becoming increasingly more resilient. The words Pam uses and the sound of her voice are very powerful. I am extremely thankful to her for all of her help.
