The nursery is divided into 5 rooms, Pooh's corner, Piglet's den, Tigger's place Rabbit's house and Eeyore's loft. The children are placed depending upon age. The nursery is a family business run by Mr and Mrs Knight, established in 1999. We offer places for children aged from birth to 12 years. We also have an out of school club based at Markfield Library which serves Mercenfeld pupils.
Services
2 Year Old Funding - Some children are eligible for 2 year old funding. This is predominantly for low income families. If your child is eligible for this funding they could attend Markfield day nursery for 3 sessions per week for 38 weeks a year with 1.33 charge for food per session. All children are entitled to 15 hours per week for 38 weeks a year of free nursery care the term after they turn 3 years old.
Markfield Day Nursery operates an out of school club in Markfield Library (next door to Mercenfeld Primary). The club is available for 4-12 year olds. We only look after children from Mercenfeld Primary school and South Charnwood High School. Children attending Mercenfeld primary school are taken to the club by nursery staff which ensures continuity of care.
We are pleased to announce that we are now running Woodland School learning. Miss Marie and Miss Jo have completed their training. As part of this new chapter we have purchased a mini bus to enable woodland visits. Children will be able to partake in exciting learning opportunities in a outdoor environment.
