We are very proud to name our brand new coffee shop after one of our former residents, Helena Concannon (nee Walsh). Helena was a much loved and very accomplished women and one of the first women in Ireland to be university educated. We wanted our coffee shop to reflect the warmth and sophistication of Helena and the generations before and after her that help to cement Walsh's Hotel as a cornerstone of the community.

Step into Seamus Heaney HomePlace and begin your journey through the life and literature of the poet and Nobel Laureate. Standing at the heart of the place and a people which so inspired him, HomePlace includes a stunning exhibition which interprets Seamus Heaney's work.
The entire space over two floors is filled with personal stories and artefacts, dozens of family photographs, video recordings from friends, neighbours and cultural figures, and the voice of the poet himself reading his own words.

This walk on the hills above the Glenshane Pass gives access to historic Carntogher Mountain. With views across Lough Foyle to Errigal and Muckish in Donegal, Sawel and the high Sperrins, and south-east to The Mournes and Slieve Gullion. Mentioned in the early Iron Age tale Tain Bo Cuailgne, the area is rich in mythology and archaeological heritage and a number of monuments remain visible in the landscape.

What a pleasant surprise to find this oasis of super friendly staff who were on point for every request from our group of high school students. The rambling hotel with never ending spaces and types of rooms were inviting and provided plenty of room. There were local activities and frankly the hotel acts like a community center. Zumba, line dancing, and a pub with a huge TV for viewing games or GoT premieres! Grocery is nearby and laundry round the corner made mid-tour replenishing easy. Thank you for making us feel welcome and well fed!
