Services
A hospital-style equine veterinary practice always investing in facilities and professional care. We were first established in the 1950s, and have since gone from strength to strength. Our equine care practice has grown in line with the quality of the treatment we want to provide for you and your horse.
At The Barn Equine Surgery, we aim to provide the highest quality care for our clients and their horses. The practice covers the whole of the East Dorset, South Wiltshire and West Hampshire region and visits can be arranged for all routine as well as advanced equine veterinary procedures. Our patients range from child's ponies to International Competition horses.
During opening hours select option 2 which is our dedicated emergency line, out of hours you will be connected immediately. We will identify the nearest experienced equine veterinary surgeon from the practice diary, which will be on screen in front of our staff and get them on their way to you. We have outlined some basic advice for you to action whilst waiting for the vet to arrive below.
Information and resources to assist your knowledge and understanding of providing high standards of care for your horse. We have written numerous information sheets on the subject of equine health and safety. We often refer to these ourselves so they are a great resource for topics that may concern you and your horses' health.

I would just like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Martin Peaty who has given us our boy back after being out of work since March 2019 due to lameness followed by an op that didn't 100% work (not carried out at the barn). I was recommended to call Martin and after further investigation he advised Beau would be a good candidate for a Stem Cell Injection and here we are now having been given the green light for Beau to return to full work.
