Brightwalton Pre-school Nursery
Brightwalton Preschool Nursery is located in the idyllic village of Brightwalton, where we have been delivering a unique learning experience for Preschool children for over 35 years. We are lucky to have the use of a large playing field, a small woodland area and a wooden playpark which the children enjoy daily.

Some of our outdoor activities include, building camps, story and singing time in the woods, picnics in the bluebell woods as well as walks around the village to the church and primary school. We will be walking to Spray Wood to visit the bluebells. We will be planting our cress and our herb planter in the garden.
Services
This year we introduced an exciting new way to record, track and share your child's learning. The system, called an 'online learning journal' will enable staff to take photographs, video's and make written observations of the activities your child does at nursery. The system we are using is Tapestry and is hosted in the UK on dedicated, secure servers.
At Brightwalton Preschool Nursery we encourage children to eat healthily. Emma's Nutrition is a small nutrition business, run by me, Emma. I am a qualified Nutritional Advisor, living in Brightwalton, running my own small nutrition business from home. As well as advising clients on a one-to-one basis I also give talks on various nutritional topics to groups of all ages, ranging from pre-schools to adults.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child's life between birth and age 5. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes.
Every Child a Talker was a national strategy that was rolled out across England over a three year period following the Bercow Review (2008). It is often referred to as ECAT and is a process to identify children who may be 'at risk of delay' with speech, language and communication. Sarah Wheatley Hince is the Brightwalton Preschool Nursery ECAT lead practitioner with all staff are developing skills and knowledge of process.
