Today Alma Veterinary Surgery serves the pet owning community in the area around Scarborough and Filey. Reduced cost neutering is sometimes available for cats and dogs where clients qualify for assistance from the RSPCA or the Dogs Trust. We are proud of our close links with the local RSPCA, and in association with them we find new homes for over 150 cats each year.
We have a private car park for surgery visits, and in addition home visits can be arranged where necessary. We are committed to friendly and personal care, and you can often request to see a particular veterinary surgeon. Our modern medical and surgical facilities provide the highest level of service and care in a welcoming environment.

Services
Annual vaccinations are vital for dogs, cats and rabbits to protect them against serious and possibly fatal disease. Puppies and kittens can begin their vaccination from 8 weeks of age, and rabbits from 5 weeks. We send free annual booster reminders for subsequent vaccinations. An annual health check will be performed during the vaccination consultation.
All consultations are appointments only. Please telephone 01723 360484 and our friendly staff will be able to offer a range of times and book you in. When the surgery is closed our own dedicated vets provide emergency cover 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. Should you need us you will be met by one of our team.
We have a large free car park available at the rear of the surgery and parking at the front of the practice in Alma Square, which is metered in the daytime. For the practice car park, from Northway turn into lower Victoria Road opposite the police station. Turn immediately right into Alma Parade, and then turn left into the small back lane between the Salvation Army Citadel and the Alma Inn.
Now we have a pup we have noticed how important a good vets is. There are no reviews online of vets in Scarborough, so anyone who is looking for a place to have your dog treated look no further than Alma vets!' The staff are very good, genuinely concerned, very helpful and capable. The vets themselves are honest, friendly and will give you the advice they feel is best for your animal.
At Alma Vets, we are all only too aware how common cat flu and feline enteritis is in unvaccinated cats are. Cat flu is not just a heavy cold - it can, and does kill. Feline enteritis is a dangerous illness with a very high mortality rate - cats and kittens who contract this literally slough the lining to their bowel.

My cats came here for vaccines and neutering. The Little one that was neutered has recovered so quickly and it was done perfectly and safely with some restrictions still in place. They even helped in regards to combating the really bad flea season we have had. We realised out older cat needed to be vaccinated from scratch due to it being so long and they were more than helpful and explained why and helped us work out the new cost.
