We have been established since 2007 in Rodney Street, Liverpool's best preserved Georgian area. We are located near both Cathedrals, both Universities, the Unity and Everyman Theatres and the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. By the way, the parking is free after 6pm. Here, we cook everything on the premises using imported genuine Portuguese products or fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
Our food is inspired by Mediterranean Cookery, chosen for the English taste, made in the Portuguese way - natural, healthy and tasty. Tapas (Portuguese Petiscos) like Bolinhos de bacalhau(salt cod fish cakes) and Sardinha assada (grilled Sardines) are served in the evening with some Traditional Portuguese main courses, like Bacalhau (Salt Cod Steak) or Cabrito (Roast Kid).

Fantastic family restaurant with freshly prepared high quality food.
This place is a little gem tucked away at the back of another food outlet
with a quaint garden filled with the owners handmade art.
My wife and I went to Cafe Porto in October and had a fantastic meal out in the garden. The owner Pedro and his team prepare all there own food and his wife kindly explained the origin of the dishes to us which was most interesting.
There are some fantastic Portuguese dishes to try and delicious puddings. The house wine was also of a very high standard and as with the food, is all chosen carefully

The best experience I have ever had in a restaurant in Liverpool.
This is not a restaurant for a quick feed. You should come with the sole purpose of having a relaxing meal with family and friends.
The food was utterly perfect and the service / ambience made me feel immediately welcome, like I was sat in someone's home.
Will be back again as soon as I can with as many people as possible! Looking forward to having a glass of their lovely Pegoes in the garden - built by the chef Pedro himself!!
The perfect restaurant.

Dissapointing experience in town to watch the champions league game we elected this has our restaurant for a meal worst decision ever.
We were presented with a feijoada which is a delicious typical plate from Portugal BUT the one that was served to us in paper plates and cutlery didn't even had a slice of chorizo! My feijoada consisted of beans and 8 tiny bits of belly pork plus rice.... I probably wouldn't be writing this review here if it wasn't for the fact this plate alone cost 15£ i would happily pay this price for quality food but what was presented was not quality food!

Cafe Porto is a real hidden gem. The garden area at the back is such a charming place to eat this truly authentic Portuguese food. Run by two absolute darlings, the service is relaxed (not the place to go if your in a rush) and why would you want to rush away from some of the best sangria this side of Spain?
10/10 would recommend.

This Portuguese restaurant is totally amazing. The owners are so accommodating, nothing was to much trouble. The food was so deliciously tasty. I have not had such a beautiful meal in a restaurant for a long while. The restaurant itself, is like a little piece of Porto. If you are looking for a tranquil and relaxing atmosphere with the most beautiful delicious food, then you should go here

• After arriving at 14.55 we had 3 starters until 17.00 when we then go our main course! There was a elderly lady serving us which we had to give out order to 7 times over ( just drinks ) and then over and… Over and over again... no cutlery nor napkins until main course ! There was 3 tables with 8 customer excluding 3 kids which were mine (1) and 2 from other customer so it’s not as if you can say it was busy ... one of the customers smashed a glass which was then put in a bread basket, put on our table and forgotten about which the customer had to then ask 3 times for a brush

Never normally write reviews but I just had an amazing meal with my partner. Just stopped off on the way home for something to eat and it blew us away. Relaxed and friendly service throughout, and the chef came down to chat to us about the meal and showed us round their lovely garden. Food was amazing, especially the pork and clams, and the pastel de natas. Lovely drink, great food, good people. Highly recommend

Cafe Porto is a really friendly, homely little establishment based on Rodney Street, just five minutes' walk from Lime Street or Central Station.
It offers great food at great prices, and you can tell from the second that you walk in that they are family run, and food orientated.
Aside from fantastic Portuguese cuisine, Cafe Porto also pride themselves on an exclusive wine list, and occasionally have wine and cheese nights to show off their palate! Beware, it's best to find out about these early by popping past and looking for the ad's in the Cafe window, because they sell out fast

I am glad I stopped in here for lunch as it's not often that you come across Portuguese cuisine in Liverpool - as far as I am aware there is only one other restaurant.
Cafe Porto has a very homely feel to it because of its basic, rustic wooden chairs and tables, maps of Iberia on the wall next to photos of Liverpool and mementos from Portugal. The only thing that confused me was the Cuban music playing gently in the background.
I couldn't wait to tuck into my smoked suasage and tomato tortilla but I will be honest I was expecting a wrap, forgetting that a Spanish/Portuguese tortilla

I am not going to pretend that I am an expert on Portugese cuisine infact before I found Cafe Porto I had no knowledge of it at all but what I found was a pleasant treat.
The Cafe itself is light and friendly and in the summer months has a small outdoor seating area which can be a nice place to watch the world go by whilst you enjoy your meal. The food is also light and refreshing with home made humous, salads paninis and other sandwiches as well as a variety of other foods. All of these are reasonably priced and I would recommend the Greek salad with its' delicious feta cheese priced at

This is such a find. I have just come back from here and im still thinking about the breakfast i just had. Lovley coffee accompanied by a superb breakfast consisting of amazing scrambled eggs, tomatoes, toast, and bacon. Sitting outside in the sun on rodney street gives this place a great feel. Inside it is very authentic - the portugeuse feel is refreshing and unique.
