As independent funeral directors and celebrants, we arrange funerals in Frome, Melksham and Bath. We work with families in Somerset, Wiltshire and Bath and North East Somerset (BANES). For the hands-on care of those who have died, we work with GoSimply whose premises are located near Melksham. We set up Greenwood Funerals in 2013 in response to changes in the way people think about funerals.
We are not your typical funeral directors and we bring to our work a wide range of experience from outside the funeral industry. We care about getting it right for you and providing a kind professional service. To do this, we will listen to what you want to happen and be flexible and open-minded in our response.

Non-religious funerals have become much more widespread in recent years and there have been other important changes in the way our society and culture approach death and dying. As independent funeral directors and celebrants, we are committed to giving families choice and encouragement to plan funerals in line with their own beliefs and values.
These days there is no one way to arrange a funeral. Planning a funeral can vary from the traditional to the alternative. Although many funerals happen in a church or crematorium, others take place at home, in village halls (or the equivalent) or outside under a marquee. Some are graveside at a natural burial ground.
Funeral costs have risen significantly in recent years and more people are looking for transparency in how funeral directors price their goods and services. They are also wanting to minimise what can feel like unnecessarily high expenditure on things they do not want. Our pricing is straightforward.
The funeral service plays a vital role in the early stages of grieving someone's death. It gives us a focus in those first few days after someone dies when everything can feel so strange and out of balance. Equally important it allows us to say goodbye in a way which is hard to do without going to a funeral service.
